with the s subframe on an ss it gives you more choices of seats. select, street fighter, low or stock. plus it make the rear tire look like it sticks out more... which is purely aesthetic. some one on here did it a while back. he had pics. but i think he sold it, and i don't remember who it was. | ||

You will have to make a custom bracket to get it work, the spacing is different from the SS and a S. | ||

What spacing are you referring to? There's only 4 bolts that hold the seat sub-frame to the frame, as far as I can tell... | ||

It's been done, search the archives. My own opinion is that the finished product looked "unbalanced." The stock Ss seat is far more comfortable than the narrow suppository that comes on the "S" so I don't understand why anyone would want to do it. YMMV. | ||

Oh come on there is more to the SS than the longer rails. More fuel, different geometry, different colors. I think a shorter tail would look killer on an Ss. | ||

i think the S seat would look sweet on the SS! I orginaly wanted an S but couldn't find one available in my area plus I couldn't pass up the deal I was getting on the SS! If anyone finds any of the old threads that might have pics or more info on this please post the links... | ||

To each his own. That's the photo I remember, and it doesn't look "balanced." Like someone started to build a bike and then just stopped before he was done. Just my opinion. I love the looks of my XB12Ss just as it is. | ||

I think it looks great!!!! Who cares about the black stripe on your back? Not me! If you have cut your strainer off your gonna get the black stripe anyway. Makes me wish I had bought a SS and done this. My S with the strainer cut looks as if the swingarm has been lengthened, and this one really looks lengthened. Great job!!!!!1 | ||
