On the Buell bags thread, someone posted a remark about the rain and his Sidi boots. Not wanting to hijack that thread, I figure I'll ask it on a new thread.

Sidi boots were the next expensive item I bought after the bike (and insurance) but I had just seen photos of somebody's foot from a bad crash...

How did those boots hold up in the rain?

Does Dubbin help?

Should probably do that anyway.

My feet have never got wet despite having water running down my legs in the rain or in deep puddles.

They did there job in my tumble a year and half ago..

I have the Tepor version...

I'll be buying another set before years out... FYI you can have them resoled..

I have a set of Sidi Canyon Goretex boots.

Very waterproof, comfortable, and they survived my get off last year.
Without them I would almost guaranty I would have snapped my ankle.

I too have the Sidi Canyon Goretex boots and confirm Corporatemonkey's statements regarding waterproof and comfort. Fortunately, I have not had any "get off" experiences. Also, the New Enough folks were very good to deal with.

That would be me, and my Sidi Vertigo boots, which someone (Motorcyclist ?) described as the result of a boot being assimilated by a Leggo set. Anyway, I really like them, and they are quite comfortable for a full day in the saddle. I have worn them for some 14+ hrs straight on the road w/no complaints. They are, however, a track oriented boot, and have a bazillion (it seems) different parts and seams. So they leak in a heavy rain. My plan is to see if I can find a pair of Totes in "Really Big."

Mine are the ACS Vertebra System in Firebolt blue. Not sure of the specific model but they are very comfortable to walk around in.

Sounds like mine may be the leaky model. Oh well.

I have these:

Like said above, they are a track boot and definitely don't hold up in the rain, which I have experienced numerous times.

With my canyons I can walk quite far (miles), they feel like stiff hiking boots.

One thing the canyons do very well it blend in. If you pull your pant leg over the boot, most people will not notice you are wearing anything different. Great for restaurant stops.

With some of the more racy versions, you are in "power ranger" mode all the time.

"Power Ranger" mode-great description, I love it! As to comfort, I haven't walked that far in them but the usual moving about when off the bike for lunch, fuel, ect. they are quite comfortable.

I have Vertigos, while very comfy on the bike, walking around leaves a lot to be desired, but thats not what I bought em for so I don't really care.
