I read thru a bit of the MSN Groups and am willing to speculate that whoever "CBJame" is, he/she needs to do a reality check. In addition, a does of good old fashion manners would be in order. I'll stop before I say too much....geeeesh. |

He is just another goofball trying to be funny or to "give" potential XB12 buyers reason to pause. Or maybe its a ToolTime Tim shouting "MORE POWER". |

Cory James... Check out his site.. I did.. I've even posted there a few times.. As a matter of fact, I learned about the BadWeb there.. He seemed like a sincere, friendly Buellin' kind a guy.. Stated he had done some engine work and gotten good results, offered to build motors similar to what he had posted.. The whole XB15 post doesn't really sound like him.. But then.. I don't know the guy personally. Later, |

FWIW, every person that I have met to date that works for Buell or HD has an email that follows the format described above, ie firstname.lastname@Harley-davidson.com |

Either way I don't think It would be 1 a good Idea to give someone Like Erik Buell's e-mail over the BWB or anyother public forum 2 fair to Erik specially if this guy is his "friend".

Someone should tell him that 104.03 ft-lbs at 7800 rpm = 154.5hp

CBJames posted on the XB msn group that the XB15 was not a Buell project, but a engine project utilizing the XB12 engine. It is being produced and tested in Las Vegas. He says he will have the engine in about 2 weeks possibly. Could be interesting if it's true! L8R, JM edited by usapitbullz on October 20, 2003 |

I expect the XB15 motor is just an 88" kit using the Nallin 1200 kit. |

>>>FWIW, every person that I have met to date that works for Buell or HD has an email that follows the format described above, ie firstname.lastname@Harley-davidson.com Let's shake this engine and power thing for a minute and focus on "simple courtesy". Erik Buell has gone to lengthsnever envisioned by executives of many firms to be accesible and stay in contact with Buell owners. Most folks here have met Erik, many have spent "quality" one-on-one time. There are, as a simple practical matter, things Erik can not discuss. Questions like "can you call my dealer and ....." or "are you going to make another sport-tourer" are in bad taste and an insult. In addition, Erik has taken none of the traditional "I have to hide from my customers" measures to conceal his contact information. He's "in the book" and you don't have to be a rocket scientist to call Buell, get the voice mail and enter the first 3 letter or the persons last name to get his extension. Here's where the courtesy comes in... Erik gets more e-mail than you can imagine. Think of yourself going to a B.R.A.G. event for 3 days and coming back to 2400 messages in your in-box, many of which call for technical thought. In addition, Erik pretty much lives on the phone and in meetings. There have been and are being some incredibly groundbreaking things from East Troy. All of these require tremendous collaboration from concept stage to homologation and cert teams. Erik, and many of you know this, would love to do ALL these things, he simply can't. But he does keep tabs by attending the meetings of these groups. If you pick up the phone and call, think what happens. You either end up with a dramatic "didn't have time to talk to a customer, wouldn't take my call" or some other rediculous account. T'aint so. There's another component that has to do with most the things people want to contact Erik about are outside the purvue of what he's involved with. Bottom line, is it's simple courtesy and respect. Your Mother taught you not to walk inot the bathroom when someone's in there, you wouldn't walk into someone's office unannounced, etc. It's exacerbated by the fact that any ass can post a "Erik and I talk a couple times a week and he's consulting with me on a new project" (yes, I actually got that one) and Erik is powerless, simply due to the time it takes to engage in an internet flame war, to defend himself. Old wisdom, me thinks, is best...."do unto others...." and let's not mess up the good thing or the good friend we, as Buell Riders, have. Court |

I already know the answer because you & I discussed that exact situation. he does talk with Erik several times a week. Erik sometimes also makes the calls to him at home & work. |

LMFAO! I got turned down for a job with Buell, and just so I wouldn't feel so bad Erik sent me an e-mail and told me all about what they're working on for the next years bike... Then later on in the same thread he says Buell isn't doing this, they're race engines using "Nallin 1050cc Heads" made by Shelby and he has "done 7 of these thus far for XB9R's " HAHAHA

Guys... after 4 months... I FINALLY got an email from Erik Buell... I will post and share this email at a later time early next week... it is interesting to say the least and does point to major development in the XB line... I will let you all extract what you want out of the email from Erik... I was begging Erik to hire me but the usualy response, "we are not taking applications at this time".... but the letter went on to talk about the XB Series..... I just thought this was funny, cause later on he says this... XB15 Engine is NOT being built by Buell or H-D. It is being built by a professional racing company that builds engines for Shelby Motors in Las Vegas! Erik and H-D would never get a project like this off the ground with all the damn beancounters floating about telling Erik what to do I just thought it was funny how he started the thread, then starts to back peddle... |

It's not that he's trying to share info, it's that his info is crap. He tries to infer that Buell is building an XB15. Then states a supposed racing company is building the engines. Maybe English is his second language? And, he is definitely not a math wizard. I did the math as Anonymous did, 104.03 ft-lbs at 7800rpm = 154.5hp. His credibility is just a bit low. Pammy already has more HP out of her 88". |

Just to add some fuel to the fire...there is a guy that is a partner/owner of the dealership where I had purchased my XB who is a Buell enthusiast...when I spoke to him, he indicated (or rather stated) that in his recent conversations with Eric Buell, Eric told him that they had developed the current XB motor to over 130hp. Could this be the future? I'm only adding this because I heard it with my own ears. Maybe related, may not be...but let's hope it's true. |
