Whitethunder I can guarantee you your shop doesnt suck nearly as bad as Jackson, MS!!! I just called to verify the VIN so I could pay taxes and get the tag for my Firebolt which I've owned for 4 weeks and still dont have!, and the shop manager barely had the # out of his mouth and i said "thanks, oh and..." and he hung up!!! I'm LIVID!!!! He blew me off cuz he knew I was gonna ask if my bike was done yet! I'm waiting on a return call from H-D/Buell customer service right now, because thats ridiculous and if they can't get it together themselves then I just decided to go over their heads and light a fire under their butts to speed things along a little bit...3 and a half weeks in that shop I think has earned me a right to be impatient with them, I wont ever spend another dime in that shop! I'll drive 3 hours to the nearest HD/Buell dealer from now on and I'll do it with a smile on my face! |

Even better!!! the shop head just called me sayin if i had a problem w/ him i shoulda picked up a phone and called him, i was like "yeah well i would have but you hung up on me! all i want is for yall to get my bike fixed" and he continued to say the part was backorder and recommended that I look around at other shops that might have the part and get them to fix it...i told him gladly. I'd like to think after 3 and 1/2 weeks in that shop i have a right to be pissed off and go over his head! All i wanted was for them to call me and let me know the part was on backorder! That should be a given anyway!!! I shouldnt have to call! they should be callin and updating me! As much money as my family have put in that shop over the past 11 years he should at least be a bit more polite! |

Well steve that sucks. Nothing else to add. Why would the folks on the west coast give a hoot about the speed that you get parts. |

wow! all it took was a 10 minute phone call to the dealer in LaFayette, LA, and it'll be here weds!!! so complicated right??? of course though i'll have to put it on myself, but well worth the trouble to keep them from even touching my bike again! |

Jake, Can't blame ya for being upset with them... Choose a different dealer. I have 2 Dealers that are within 30 miles of me, but I go to board sponsor Gainesville (45 miles from me) because they care!!! A good dealer would have found it themselves and gotten you on the road as quick as possible. |

Yeah, the only reason i went there is because of location, which was a mistake. The dealer I bought it from really seem to care, they went through a ton of trouble to get the bike safe to ride so it really offended me when the head mechanic in Jackson said "well i'm not the one that sold you the bike with a faulty part" and today said "I can promise you that they knew when they sold you that bike, they just wanted you out the door before it went bad," oh and he told me when the vr on my '97 fatboy went out that its just one of those parts that you dont know is bad until it goes bad! so why go right back and lie a year later!!?? what a dick! if that had been the case I never would've made it from New Orleans to Jackson!!! Let alone from Jackson to Gulf Shores and then most of the way back to Jackson before it went bad! He just assumes that because they're all jerks there and thats how he does business that all the other dealers in the region are the same way! A good dealer would've not only called me when they found out it was backordered! but also would've been calling around to the other dealers in the area! I called the shop in Houma, LA today and the guy gave me 3 shop names I could call that had the part, WOW sooooo complicated! I waited on them for 3 and 1/2 weeks for a $97 part that will only take me maybe 15 mins to install myself, and can get by weds through ups!!! |

Well my Voltage Regulator came in today! WOW!!!! In only 3 days, as opposed to the month(s) that HD of Jackson was willing to put me off for while it was on back order instead of simply calling another dealer in the region! It was totally worth paying for the part, instead of letting those jerks install it under warranty, or driving the 5 hours to the dealer I bought the part from to have it done under warranty(which the gas there and back would've been more than double what the Regulator cost!) Thanks to the parts guy at the HD/Buell of LaFeyette, LA!!! |
