Well, Its time for me to buy my first set of tires for the 04 firebolt or "Suicide Machine" as my parents so affectionately call it. Im looking at Pirelli Corsa III's and maybe the Metzeler M3's. How does that sound? Ive got stock tire's on the bike now, and to be honest they don't stick as much as I like. Hopefully these tires will work! Any suggestions? Im sure there's a thread on this but in my search I didnt really turn up the answers I wanted. Im not super good at this whole message board thing so forgive me and don't shoot me right off the bat |

I ran the M3s on my FZ6 I had before my Firebolt. I liked them. They never slid once on me, and stuck like glue for the one trackday I ran. Very confidence inspiring. Im going with either them or the Road Attacks when I wear my Bolt's tires out. Ive heard many good things about the Corsa IIIs as well though. Dont think you can go wrong with either tire. |

I run the M3's on both Buells. The have good handling and the wear quite well, I average about9K miles on a rear. I have used Meztlers on the Fatboy for years and have always been pleased. |

I ran M3's on my R1200S at Jennings GP and they were excellent. Remember, sticky is always good on a tire, but a tire that tells you what's going on is just as important. The M3's are known for letting you know what's going on, and warning you before you reach the limits of your ability. They also have a rounded profile which works well with the XB's suspension geometry. |

the Corsa III's are by far the best tire I've ran on my bolt as far as sticking, but the mileage is crap. If you're not doing track days and just want an all around good tire, the Road Attacks are the best I've put on for the money. I picked up Road Attacks from Dennis Kirk for $245 the Corsa III's will be upwards of 290 plus. The Road Attacks give allot of traction in the wet, more than the Pirellis in my opinion, and last allot longer than the Pirellis. I'm currently on my second set of RA's and will be buying them again when the time comes. |

Seriously, the new Michelin Pilot road 2's are tearing up the reviews. They are as sticky as the pilot powers, but have the life of a touring tire. 9,000 is the avg. life I believe. I just put these on after running Metzler M1's and they are much better, warm up fairly quick, and have some of the best wet grip of any tire (I rode though a huge storm just today, solid!) And best of all, I'll provide you with a link to get them cheap!!! But read some reviews on them, Motorcyclesuperstore has a lot. I bet you'll love them http://www.derbycycles.com/cgi-bin/eShop/index.cgi ?pid=3661 |

Altima hook me up. What skill level are we talking here. Im fairly new to street bikes but im interested in leaning a little more and being more confident in the curves. The stock tires ive got now feel like at a certain lean angle they start sliding and become erradic. So I figured with that its time to upgrade? |

Well these would be just the tires for you. You wouldnt need full on race ready tires like the Rosso or others, these will provide more than enough grip and stability for you to lean them all the way over to the edge, while still having great rain grip and extended life. What better can you ask for for a street tire. Seriously, they are getting excellent reviews from magazines, internet, and many other people with much more creditability than me! I like them more than my Metzler M1's, which are themselves a very good tire. |

I just switched to the Conti Road Attacks also and they are great. Incredible in the rain, holds very well. They go thru the curves very smoothly. And...they're suppose to have great mileage on them, around 6000 miles. |

I just had a thread on the same subject and decided on the pilot power ct2 Link added: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/4062/382685.html http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/tpl/tire/product.jsp ?skuId=543243&store=Main&catId=404&productId=p5432 41&leafCatId=&mmyId= I am not sure I could possibly be more impressed. They are literally night and day compared to the pirelli syncs. Ive had them into the chicken strips and they feel like I couldnt slide even if I wanted to. They are also dual compound so they shouldnt get the flat centers as easy as the miles get higher. (Message edited by rpm4x4 on August 17, 2008) (Message edited by rpm4x4 on August 17, 2008) |
