Have been keeping an eye on the site for a while from work, but could not register from there. Dude, now I have a dell. {sorry) No thats, dude, now I have an XB12R. OK, both. Not much on typing. First time ever on a forum. Have a lot of questions, and maybe a little bit of insight to the performance side of the XB12R. I have about 750 mi on it and so far love it. Thinking of replacing the ironhead on the drag strip with it. That would be a while of course. Warranty ?

Welcome aboard mate! Let me know if you need any help posting a pic of the R. Sounds like money is just ejecting out of your pockets, so you must have a camera.

Too bad the well has dried up for a camera at this time. But was able to borrow a camera. Here are some pics of my collection of V-Twins from Wisconsin.
From the pictures you might be able to tell that it is going to be a good weekend for riding in mid-Mo. Plan a Buell ride today and a Road King ride tomorrow. Drag bike for sale!
Temps supposed to be 70 to 80 for highs all wk end.
Hope pics made it ???

As much as I would like to keep trying these pics, my xb is calling for me. Will have to try later. Having trouble resizing pic.

Dave, hope to be in your neck of the woods Thanksgiving. My brother lives in Cedar Rapids area. Weather permitting will be on XB12R.

Fuzz,
Welcome to the fold!! I'm a red XB12R owner/rider as well and here's some suggestions...

Buy a set of Buell Traction handgrips asap, at only $16 or so you won't believe the difference in comfort!!

Watch you tire pressures closely!! I checked mine this morning (first time since getting the bike) to find that the front was 3 lbs below what the manual recommends so after getting it right I was really surprised at the difference in handling, to the good!! The XB's are very sensitive to tire pressure.

If you want to wake it up a little, I'd recommend the DRUMMER pipe, race ECM and filter conversion. It's rather pricy for the amount of improvement but the sound my bike makes now and the seat of the pants torque improvement made it all worth while.

Have fun!!

P.S.
I also removed the passenger pegs and rear reflectors which really opens up the rear tire area and looks great!! Then replaced the silver heel pads with the black ones, it really cleans up the look of the side of the chassis.XB

Thanks,
It's a '62 Chevy Biscayne, 2-door sedan, just another one of the fleet. Believe it or not I don't really have any good pics of it with the Americans on it so I'll get on that tomorrow. I have some stock pics of it on my web site www.gearheadgallery.com as well as me in action on my old M2. Check out the "Project" and the "Buell Garage".

Better yet, buy some artwork while you're there so I can keep feeding my HABIT!!

Cool web site Ralph. And nice 62. Will check into the grips. Want to check with service dept. where bike was purchased ( not a big Buell shop, more Harley) before getting the Drummer.

Hope you don't mind if I include a pic of my 1975 Iron Head drag bike. It's for sale. $3500 just in case someone out there might be interested.
Gonna be coming thru the land of corn for Thanksgiving and would deliver. I kind of brought the new XB12R home without telling the Boss, it was my 14 year old son's idea. Did not go over too bad, but told her I would sell the drag. Will give more info if requested.

Hi guys,

Just got home, 8:00 cst so I didn't get a chance to snap a shot of the '62, sorry.

Fuzz, love the drag bike!! And what a great price!! As a drag racing nut as well, my palms are sweating!! I dragged the M2 a couple of times with a bunch of guys who ride sportbikes, members of the infamous "Iowa Farm Mafia".

On my second pass (ever) I got kind of spunky and wicked it up a bit more, dumped the clutch and got a great view of the sky!! I hung in there and rode it out, lost the race but became an instant hero to all the kids at the track that day. Oh, boy!!
Anyway a guy in the stands actually got a photo of the wheelie and gave it to me a few months later. If you'd realized then how high in the air I really was I'd have parked the bike and sat through the rest of the night, thanking my lucky stars!! Of course, that hasn't stopped me and look forward to running the XB next spring. I got it too late in the fall to get out there...

Thanks for the compliment on the web site, I have a great webmaster...

Gearhead Ralph

p.s. What kind of E.T.'s were you turning??

Best run 11.14 Was hoping to get in the 10s this last season but was unable to race much. Took it to Gateway in St. Louis in Sept. ran 11.8 with new pipes, new carb, new slick 7 in. Did not really have the chance to get it tuned in. The pit crew helping me asked if I needed gas the second run and of course I new I could get two runs in on a tank. Wrong, At Gateway I could get 1.5 runs in on a tank, long way back to the pits. So pissed that I put it up for the night and have not been able to get out again this year.
Bike is pretty fresh right now. Several passes only since top, lower, tranny, rebuilt.
