select seat is pretty comfy. It has gel in it, big improvement over the stock unit. |

Select Seats was a big improvement over my 03 seat. It's not quite as nice as the corbin on my S2 but a great deal for $200. If I had the money I would have gone for the corbin seat for the XB too but they've gotten really expensive. |

I'd say go to your dealer and ask if they have one in stock. Then feel it or ask to try it on your bike. |

I have a '04 XB12S and have the Corbin Gunfighter seat. The seat is three plus years old with 15k miles. I just rode 364 miles Saturday, a little sore but worth it. I haven't rode for three plus weeks so I knew I would get sore, but I was able to ride all day with this seat and I weigh in at 220. |

I weighed over 300 lbs when I first got the select, and it was nice. Now that I'm in the low 240's, even better. I think you'll like it a lot. |

I had a Select Seat on my XB9S. I found it to be a big improvement over the stock seat. |

The Select seat looks nice with the fiberglass cowl from American Sport Bike, one of our sponsors.

i vote R tail with the Select seat, it was lower than the lightning low seat and softer. |

I had a Rich's Custom Upholstery seat on my former XB9S and it was the best, hands (or butt) down. At least for my 190#. Rich's is located in Seattle.

Have you tried the Skyline seat from the CityX? Mine feels comfortable to me, and I do 500 mile days on it. Need some length to your legs to make it work though. I have a 34" inseam and it is flat-footed for me. Some don't like it because of the height issue. -roadrash1 |

I have a low and changed to a select and love it. At the smokeout I talked to a woman who rode down with a low seat from penn. she sat on my select seat and told her husband, Damn this feels like a sofa i have to have one. |

There's a Corbin for sale in the classifieds for a great price. If I hadn't just bought my Select seat I'd be all over it. |

Glad to see this thread since I test rode a CityX today. I'm not much for the aggressive posture but really liked the bike. I'm looking to move up from a Blast, you see. I wonder if the Select seat will help reduce the amount of weight on the handles? On the test ride I could really feel a lot of uncomfortable pressure in the palms of my hands. I'm sure that pressure will find it's way to my wrists, too. |

how does the select seat compare to the standard S seat in terms of keeping you in position, ie; not allowing you to slide back under acceleration? i want to upgrade for more padding (6-1/220lbs) but want something that has a larger 'shelf'. (Message edited by simple on August 12, 2008) |

for my dumb ass that first gen stock city cross seat is money. it is a bit tall(probably what your after if your 6'2") but it is nice and plush. it's a bit harder to move around on side to side( i'm only 5'8") but i get the job done. imho it is the most comfortable of all of the factory options. i have yet to experience that corbin. |

Well it's definitely a matter of opinion. I have the stock first gen cityX sitting in the garage, and I hate it. It's too soft, and get uncomfortable after an hour or so. The firmer gel support of the select holds up better IMO. |
