I guess since this thread has totally degraded we can lock it now? If there's nothing else to discuss there's only one thing left to do with such a thread. |

Wait, we never discussed who the other Bueller was... maybe it was, hmm, somebody from a metric company trying to divide and conquer. |

If you don't like the thread, pull yourself away. Leave the rest of us who enjoy good debate and friendly caveman banter alone. |

Gunter, I just figure that everything in the general proximity of the greatly enhanced cooling air blast provided thanks to the bigger RSS is likely to be exposed to significantly greater cooling than before. Seems perfectly logical to me anyway, maybe not to others. |

with all the debate over the smaller stock rss vs the larger mirror rss, with all the engineering and aftermarket farkle makers, why hasn't there been a hybrid between the two scoops? one part for aesthetics and one part for the fuel rail? seems that during all the mud-slinging and disagreeing and arguments that noone has actually come up with a solution. a combination of the two would be the end all solution. then what would everyone argue about? |

Go with the RSS and ceramic coat the fuel rail. |

Blake. You have got it wrong, Dude. Abe said that if you put a larger RSS on the bike you will get mirroring of the airflow. That means that both scoops will provide exactly the same amount of air to the rear cylinder. This will result in a 'dead' area between the cylinders and as a result no cooling of the fuel rail with his reference to vapour lock. The large LSS efectively draws the air in from the small RSS to pass over the fuel rail and then exit via the fan. |

Seems perfectly logical to me anyway, maybe not to others. Seems logical. Appearance and reality ... Buell stated that the fuel rail is NOT as effectively cooled with an RSS as without (with fan on and blahblah ...). So I don't see a good reason, why the throttle body wondrously might be. So aside the fact that FI systems aren't sensitive to icing, the stock setup would provoke icing more than a RSS - strictly following your argumentation. Regards, Gunter |

"Efficiency" is a scientific term for which there is no standard definition. Have fun with that one. |
