Check your battery connections.

Removal of the belt guards will void your warranty and adds to the chance of road debris getting caught in your drive system.

I have run without belt guards for over 10k with no problems... As far as warranty... put the guards back on before you take it in if you have an issue.

What Beach said...Semi...everyone has different degrees of luck. Apparently yours is pretty good, if I was to do this the belt would probably shoot of and crack me in the back of the head.

How about painting them Nai?

I saw a demo of the belt technology. They run the belt and toss a hand full of pyramid looking objects into the belt assembly to demonstrate durability. I was impressed with the damage and the fact that the belt didn't break.

Belts break because of age and hooliganism..... not a judgment just a statement. Lets face it improper shifting, stoppies and wheelies are tough on belts.

Reverse loads and sideloads are the biggest enemies of our belts.

Yeah, hooliganism contributes to reverse loads. Chopping throttle. Coming down off of wheelies. Etc.

Debris, worn belt tensioner bearings and bad fitments and installations contribute to sideloads (twisting).

The belts have their best life where good maintainence and good behaviour co-exist.

I took all belt guards off my Ss and have had no problems. I have had warranty work done with them off.

Mine would die and come back around for a while until I found the kill switch that was cutting out.

I had a broken solder connection IN the keyswitch. I took it apart and re-soldered the offending joint and it's been fine ever since. As for the belt guards...how about a chain ?

It only takes one rock and you are walking.

Guess you have gotta balance it out.

Bike looks good vs look like idiot pushing good looking bike.

I have a cell phone and almost always have my asus eee pc w/ mobile broadband... Considering the few issues I have had and what I have read on this board I am worried about a lot of other things first. I do recognized the increase risk though...
