I started up my 08 XB12Scg tonight, getting ready to head into work and smelled something burning. Not thinking it was my bike since it only has 3200 miles on it, I continued installing my tank bag. Then I noticed smoke. I looked down and noticed some fluid around the chin fairing and on the outside of the oil filter. So I shut her off and drove to work. Boring!!! I didn't have time to take a closer look at where the oil was coming from, since I was running a little late.

Any ideas what the problem could be? I'll take a look this morning after work but since its under warranty I will probably just call the dealer and have them pick it up. This sucks.

Check the lines on your oil cooler. Also check to see if your oil filter is tight. Silly stuff is usually all it is.

Thanks. I'll check them when I get home this morning. I rode home Thursday morning and all was well.
