I know this is more of a personal question, and I know I can do a payment calculator off of buell's website, but I'm looking for "real world" info. I'm looking to pickup a XB9 Lightning next spring, and am saving up for a downpayment now. Just wondering what you guys put down, and what your monthlys are. Anyone know any dealers around Jersey that are Excited about being a Buell dealer? There is Mikes Famous just across the Delaware bridge, but they had ONE Buell in the whole place, and there HUGE. Never heard of "Mikes Famous". Must not be.  Your payments will depend on too many variables to make any comparisons somewhat meaningless. There is the interest rate, length of term, payment insurance options, down payment, trade-in value, dealership added options and incentives, kickbacks and customer loyalty discounts and so forth. With that said most payments I've heard of run between $125-$400/month or so. To get a decent rate you'll probably need 20% down but 10% down should get you out the door if your credit rating is fair and depending on what the economy does between now and next spring. And based on what's been happening lately in the insurance business you might be well advised to factor in some insurance quotes now as well, this might cause you to reconsider your bike choices, or it may reinforce your choice. | ||

Anyone know any dealers around Jersey that are Excited about being a Buell dealer? um, no. At least not in S. Jersey. Barb's (formerly Camden Co.) Harley Davidson is, in my experience hit-or-miss. I've had good experiences there and terrible experiences, too. The bad ones have outweighed the (one) good one, so I haven't been back there in a bit. Maybe they've changed? FARALON, Ever hear of Harley Davidson and Buell of Edison? Thats where you need to go! Each and everyone of their sales men eats, sleeps,and drinks Buell.I don't work their or anything but i'm in the store quite often and i'll tell ya first hand these guys are very knowledgeable.I just took a xb 12 for a test ride.SWEEEET! For a loan Check out WWW.PEOPLESFIRST.COM. For a new bike its 5.9% for 12-36 months and 6.79% for 37-60 months.I don't know how those rates compare with whats out their but theyre probably competitive with the dealer. Unless you have cash "real world" depends on how good your credit is. I bought my XB9R in June towards the end of the last Buell financing deal which was 3.99% for 36 months, Buell/Harley requires a minimum 10% down of the purchase price. While you are saving for a down payment you should be pricing insurance which adds to the cost. My payment is $238. | ||

I'll second daveczech, I don't live in Jersey anymore but in my 50 years there I've purchased about 13 harleys and 1 2000 s3t at edison. Almost had them ship an SB9s to AZ. But came to terms with local dealer here. | ||

"Mikes Famous Harley Davidson" .. Last time I was there was NOT a Buell dealer. They have them if they get one in trade, or if your looking for a Blast (as a starter/beginer bike, before you move to a 'real' Harley.. Yeah right!) New bikes at MFHD of Delaware are notoriously marked up! When I was shopping for my Fat Boy, they told me to 'Come on out.. we have it in stock'.. yeah, for $22,000.00 .. This was for a $16,800 MSRP bike. (oh, it included a 'mandatory' $2,000 in hang ons) Be careful when dealing with them on NEW inventory. From what I understand though, their used bikes are pretty much priced at the top of the Blue Book, but still within the realms of reality. As for payments.. You have to work your deal as best you can. I put down $3K and that really helped keep payments down. Didn't hurt that I'd paid off the H-D early, so their credit knew I was a good risk. The worse your credit rating (you can check it easily) the higher you want your down payment to be. My down was that high because I had been tucking away small amounts for over a year in anticipation of the buy. Later, |
