So I need to change dealerships I think -- the little things have sorta added up and I am fed up. Bolts left off, washers missing, not willing to take responsibility for damage cause while in the shop (cracked headlight lens, clutch case abrasions), etc... Anyone know much about other NW dealerships besides HD of Seattle (aka Cyclebarn)? I have a stator plug that needs replacing(warranty), as well as a fix for my front brake lever not actuating my brake light(warranty), and tracking down source of some oil seepage (nothing serious, but not something I want to let hang around, also warranty as far as I can tell). Not bashing HDoS, most people in Service there are decent folk but the parts people don't know anything about Buell (their Buell guy left last year) and they don't call when they say they will, and the sales people are really huge arses to me when I go in (this seems par for the course at a HD dealership from my experience). Any local knowledge would be appreciated, I would like to get the stator plug replaced at the very least, and in the next two weeks since I have a wedding and honeymoon coming up on the 10th and I would prefer not to have to come back to the problem, you know? Plus a parts department that is at the very least not Buell-hostile would be bonus. Cheers, Ret |

Yeah, I was kinda waiting to hear him chime in -- a great guy working there doesn't always mean a good dealership to get serviced but I figure he will say one way or the other. I am already leaning that way since a not to be named dealership in Tacoma seems to get a lot of bad reviews (they are not the nicest to me when I swing through so I am not a fan anyways). I figure I would gather some input and see what people suggest. Oh, and I am coming from Olympia so there is that to consider... |

I've had good luck at Downtown Harley in Tukwila. Kevin worked on my XB12R and did outstanding work. I don't know if he's still there it's been so long since I've had to go to the dealer for anything. |

Hooligan, thats the one near Boeing Field, right off I5 yeah? I get gas near that one when I am going through Seattle, easy on/off and all. Anyone know if I need to bring paperwork with me for warranty work to the new dealership? I figure it would be under my VIN but that might be assuming to much (probably the case). Thanks for the posts guys, keep them coming. |

I am a sales guy at the shop, I work everyday except tuesday & wednesday. (though I have a nasty habit of showing up on my day off, I am not predictable about it) I am the 250 lb pain in the a$$ for service when one of our Buellers comes into service. You have a buzy life, you got things to do. I can be in front of them all day long to make sure your bike is done, done right, and done as promised. They work on my bike. I dont turn mechanical wrench one on my rides. I trust them with all the fixin and routine maintenance that I need after I abuse the bike (and if you have been here a while, you know I abuse the bike outside of what the factory says should be done with a City-X) We are a bit out of the way for you, but you bring your bike into us, and we will get you back on the road. I couldnt/wouldnt encourage you to have your bike in our shop, if mine wasnt there right next to it. (25k service in two weeks) |

Thanks Cityx -- thats the kind of endorsement I was looking for. The big question is can your service department get me in this week or next week so I can get this take care of before the wedding/honeymoon? Oh, and what info do I need to bring as far as warranty (it's an '07 so it's sorta obvious it's still under factory warranty but you never know). I don't mind the ride up to you -- it's a mellow highway that is much less of a pain in the a$$ than I-5 (and much fewer WSPers too ) and HDoS was far away already. Wouldn't mind seeing that new CR when it comes in too. |

This is the week up to Sturgis, the shop is crazy buzy, next week it is all crickets and mice, I think you have a pretty good shot at next week. You have a pm with the shop numbers. CR will be in late September. I have a 1125R on site if you want to demo that when you drop off |

I've had good luck at Downtown Harley in Tukwila. FYI Downtown is in the process of moving. They are building a new shop on the parent company's lot (RMC in renton). Last time I was in DHD, I didn't get the warm vibe I once got, I didn't see Kevin the last time I was in. I don't know what it all means in the big picture, but the move has screwed with my life. It was convenient to drop off the bike and climb on the 150 bus home. Getting to RMC (or for that matter Legend) is sort of a pain on the bus... |

DHD moving blows. I live 4.5 min from work and about 10 from their current location. I use to just have one of the guys on my crew drop me off and switch out bikes during work come service time. I'll have to just start doing more of my own work it sounds like. Diabolical bastards. I was thinking Lynwood ( Seattle whatever ) but not after lurking here. So what's the deal with these place's names being in the neighboring city? |

So what's the deal with these place's names being in the neighboring city? DHD goes a LONG way back (1958) they had a small shop right on the edge of downtown. |

its all copy write and trade mark. Cycle Barn got, bought, stole whatever the name Seattle Harley even though they are 20 miles away, in another county, and a good hour from Seattle (more if its a friday and the Blue Angels are over head) Everybody locally knows that the Mall life is NOT Seattle |
