It's gotta be some sorta record... I laid my bike down and, at the time, it didn't even have 200 miles on it.

It was beautiful here in Baltimore yesterday so I went out for a long ride on some twisty, hilly back roads. I probably spent 2 hours out there and I couldn't believe how easy this bike is to ride. It almost steers itself through the turns.

I suppose this made me too confident. I got on the throttle a little too hard between turns and then I knew it was gonna happen. I was heading off the side of the road and my vision fixated on it. I know, I know, the bike goes where you look... :-(

I got on the brakes as much as I could to slow the bike before hitting the grass and dirt, but when I hit the dirt the front wheel locked. The bike sorta twisted to the left and fell on its left side while I went over the handlebars.

Foolishly, I was riding without gloves and my hands are torn up pretty badly. My left knee is busted up as well. The chin of my full-face helmet is scuffed a little... I'm glad it's not my face.

Fortunately, there's amazingly little damage to the bike. The large frame rail is scuffed and dented at the widest portion, the rubber boot on the clutch shifter is torn and the tinted cover on the left front turn signal is destroyed.

To top this all off, I was getting ready to go ride again this morning and I had the bike warming up while I put on my jacket and helmet. It fell over... No damage, but I just had to laugh at my bad luck in order not to cry...

Ryon,

Sorry to hear that.... At least you're not laid up in a trauma center... We'll it looks like you've leared a hard lesson... Eventually, we all learn lessons... I broke my shoulder about 4 years ago when I was caged by an Orkin Extermintator Truck (Fruedian slip maybe?)... Get it fixed, heal-up, get back on, and most of all, get a rider's safety class (if you did'nt already have one.)...

Ryon,

Very sorry to hear it. I had all my gear on... so virtually no road rash... but my bike is in multiple pieces in the back of my pickup truck... COMPLETELY destroyed. just be CAREFUL and take it easy.

Cheers,
Damon

Look at the manufacture date of the bike. There is a kickstand recall and a bearing replacement on the 03 bikes.
I just had it done to my bolt at the Pulaski highway dealership on Saturday.
Also I recommend good gear I have the Joe Rocket stuff with upgraded armor and I’m real happy with it. I can show you the stuff. I live in Annapolis
