Is there a way to remove the header without rotating the engine? The front is no problem, but the rear bolts seem to be in a very tight place. I can't even get light in there to see them. Any help would be appreciated. The bike is an 05 XB12Scg, thanks! |

maybe, but didn't have the tools this weekend for it. maybe two of the ujoint things you use with a socket. Even with the engine rotated I had to use one of them. Getting the nuts back on is a hoot. |

I'll second the getting the nuts back on. It's a bear when it's rotated. I'd imagine it's impossible, if you somehow managed to get them off, without rotating. |

It's easier to just rotate the engine... Do some searching... I've posted most of the procedure a number of times and don't have time to again. It's simple. If you want to remove the header you "can" without rotating the engine. On a nine it'll come right out I think, on a twelve you need to bend one of the cooling fins on the rear head a little bit. |

one of my fellow NEBO brothers(FireboltEric) swears he can pull his header and put it back on without rotating the engine. i have yet to ask or learn his secret, but post up over in
for him maybe he'll teach you his ways! |

I can testify that you do not need to rotate the engine down, I did it on the wifes 9s and on my 12ss both in about 1 1/2 hours time. Jimmy |
