Ok, I have been seeing the bags and trunk for sale. And instead of buying the new XB12XT -- will the bag and trunk setup from a Uly fit my Ss? |

In a word: "No." |

You will have to modify the cases pannier hoops, or buy the set from Journey bags from H&B. The top rack would fit if you mounted it to a Ventura rack that had been flattened. You will be doing fab work, but it can be done. (everything I did on my bike, I had "experts" at several levels telling me it couldnt be done) Its just outside of the tech manual coverage |

check out twintour's profile. he made his Ss into a hybrid of the lightning long and a uly/xt. |

Remove your taillight/cheese grater, and replace with the Uly tailight bridge assembly. You have to drill 2 holes in the tail rails to do this and relocate the seat latching mechanism, which is OK because you....use a Uly seat. Use Uly racks. Presto. UlySS. Or would that be UlySSes? |

Doesn't the lower mounting point attach to a footpeg bracket extension that doesn't exist on the Ss? |

DOH. Good call, you need to either swap the peg spars to the Uly spars, or modificate the forward sidebag support to reach the Ss peg mount. Sorry, forgot about that one... |

So let me modify my terse response above: In my world, if the answer "Yes" requires cutting torches, welding torches and hacksaws, then "No" is the appropriate response. In MY world. Yours is most likely different. If I tried, I'd just burn down the garage and the house with it. |

or you could just get a set of the journey bag sets from motointernational, twistedthrottle or direct from H&B. they bolt right up. You will have to use the smaller journey bags though Its really as easy as 1,2,3,4, of course these are the caribous

I can't find the Journey Bags and mounting system you have pictured. I tried twistedthrottle and the other as well. Do you have the part number or URL for it? Thanks, J- |

Brian, You've told me that in the past, but a year later and the Hepco Becker site STILL says those mounts are for the standard "S" model (and "SX") only, not the "Ss." I've checked that page several times (even just now) and still no mention of them fitting the Ss. See above regarding my view of welding, cutting and brazing... |

Cityxslicker, who made the racks for your bike? Caribou does not have any Buells listed, twisted throttle does not have it listed, even Hepco Becker still does not have it. I looked all over these sites. Does any one have a direct url to these links? |

Try to locate Crusty. He put the H&B bags with those mounts on his wife's '07 SS. |

I called to moto, they said that there was NOT a separate part number for the ss or stt. The foot peg is actually further back on the frame strut, putting it at the same distance as it is on the standard S or SX. I will have an SS here with in the next couple of days, I will do the measurements to verify. But the H&B pannier rack is very nice and bolts up in an about 2 hours (faster if you speak german and are NOT drinking beer) All the instructions have big diagrams, |
