They moved the redline from 6800 rpm to 7100 rpm's on the 08's. Any Idea what they did to do this? And would it be possible to change my redline to 7100 on my 06 xb12r without any issues or doing anything to the motor? Im constantly hitting my rev limiter, and thats where it really seems to start opening up. |

I think they changed the crankshaft. you can increase the rev limit to whatever you desire through ECM spy, but I wouldn't do it. |

The crank, oiling system, and a few other major items have been upgraded for '08, hence the increased redline. |

Set it at 9500 rpm! It'll run like hell, for a little while. |

They increased the size of the rod journal. The older style will stretch the big end of the front conrod in high RPM high heat conditions. You can install an '08 crank in an older case. |

Is it true that this engine is using roller bearings inside instead of regular oil film bearings? If so, which ones are oil film and which ones are roller? |

I think just the crank bearings and the bearings in the trans are rollers? |
