Clear Brake Lens and Red Bulb - Has anyone done this? I'll be changing my turn signals out for LED sigs with clear lenses soon and I'm pondering making the brake lens match (all clear lenses). I'd be staying with a regular bulb, red tinted. Pics & experiences? Share up. Thanks. |

I've had one on mine for a few years. I like the look and it works pretty well. I've heard no complains anyway (from the people I ride with). I've been pulled over twice too. Cops didn't say a word. Gregg |

If your looking for a bright light, then be warned its no brighter then stock. If you want to go with a brighter setup, i'd go with LED's. there are plenty of options #1 ME! www.xblights.com #2 Al's lights from heavycycles #3 clear alternatives ( not very bright!) #4 I think peterbueller sells some now too. have not heard anything good or bad about them. I'm in the process of re-designing the site, which will have some comparison shots. RIDE SAFE!! -Robert xblights@yahoo.com |

I want to retain the non-directional output of a regular bulb for the brake light. That's just me. I've replaced my turn signals with running light + turn for more visability... |

I have it on the back of my bike, I works well. The Red clashed with all the other orange on the bike, so it had to come off. One of those lil things that drove me bonkers (I took the Hero Blue of my bike before I put mile one on it) |

I think they look weird when the light isn't on with this red circle in the middle of while/silver. They make silver colored bulbs that light up in red to counteract that and it looks much better. |

I use LED bulbs that are set up as an array of 27 or something LEDs. Seven face the lens, the rest are around the side (picture a wooden barrel) to light the reflector. I've had good luck finding bright ones, and now run red LEDs in my S1W with clear lens, and on my S2 with red lens (red bike) I run bright white LEDs. The only "drawback" is on the S1W, I now have a red license plate light...<shrug> |
