I got an '04 12r with a race kit and sometimes when I pull up to a stop light, the engine will stay at 2000 rpms, sometimes for 15 seconds and sometimes for over a minute, then it'll fall to just over a thousand where it normally idles. It doesn't do it everytime I stop, just sometimes, is something wrong there? |

tps reset would be my first guess. |

nah, the idle is set just a hair high. if it's off, it will seek like this. |

wouldn't it do it every time if the idle was set too high? he also mentioned he has a race kit. good chance a tps reset wasn't done properly when the ecm was changed. |

If you open the throttle (engine off) and let go does it snap shut, or does it close slowly? Throttle may be sticking, cables out of adjustment.... |

wouldn't it do it every time if the idle was set too high? Not necessarily. The current idle speed may be right at the break point where timing and fuel maps change. Bring it down 25 rpm and it should settle it. Mine idles best at 1000. Make sure to set it after it is completely warmed up. That is how it usually gets messed up in the first place. |

Ditto. Listen to Etennuly and Badlions. Mine was just doing the same thing last week. TPS + AFV reset and drop the idle fixed it. ~SM |

Yup, just lower the idle. Mine would do the same thing until i lowered the idle by about 50rpm. |

Thanks guys, I guess I'll lower the idle a bit and see if it helps. When I start it up cold it idles right around a thousand though and when its warm its just over so I'm not sure if thats the problem. The guy I bought it off of worked at the dealer when he bought it and had it dyno tuned. It happened again tonight, at a light for only about 15 seconds before it came down. |

might also want to check to be sure your battery connections are good and tight |
