Anybody gone over 15k without changing the belt? I'm at 15.8k (waiting for backordered belt) and it hasn't disintegrated yet. |

I copied Court's post w/ part #'s & pricing into the knowledge vault, under the 'Secondary Drive' section, for future reference. The thread is titled "'03-'04 XB Drive System Upgrade". Thank you, Court. |

Shazam, That's pretty incredible. I wonder if having all that power on tap actually keeps you from having to thrash the drivetrain real hard? |

I tried emailing them too. Waiting to hear back from them. That exhaust is bad ass, and the rearsets look killer too.

Just giving you shit Daves !! Me and bmule rode on Saturday down to IL, with a Beemer, another Buell, and 3 Harleys. On a really good straight stretch on a 4 lane Hwy with no cars in view on my side, I took it to 100 MPH passing the Beemer and Buell in front of me just to see if I could do it !! (still want to get to 115 mph like Char!) It's posted in my profile!! Now I know 100 is probably riding like a girl, but after only being able to go 80 MPH on the Blast it was pretty scary AND fun !!! Of course as soon as the speedo hit 100 I let off the gas and 3 seconds later the Beemer and Buell zoomed pass me !! You know guys just won't let a girl outride them !! I rode with the guy on the Beemer the next Sunday along with Nancy, and when he pulled up to ride, he was laughing and said "let's keep it under 100 today" !! I'm assuming it's okay to do that now that it's officially past 500 miles !? But if it's not, this whole post was just one BIG LIE !!! CJ XB

100mph is fun. The thing I found out about the these bikes is that the faster you go, the more stable the bike feels. When I went down to Texas last month, 100mph became my normal cruise speed. The bike got better mileage, the balance was superb, if it had cruise control, i wouldn't have had to touch the bars. Mine is also a low. A word of advice, pop for a good seat for the long haul. The lows are a little rough on the butt. If Ill is down, I take it you in Southern Wisconsin too. What's the best place you found in the Madison are to cruise through?

I wonder if those sliders can actually take a hit. That mounting system looks a little flimsy. Won't do ya a whole lot of good if it busts off. |

Hey guys, Hopefully the last update on my belt situation. I found out yesterday that the "wonderful" people at High Country Buell forgot to tighten my bolts on my rear pulley and didn't tell me before I went for a 120 mile ride. When I picked it up they assured me everything was ready to go. Yesterday they called and said don't ride that bike, it could be dangerous. Thanks, don't you think it is a little late. Fortunately nothing happened and my bike and I are still in one piece but the idea of having my rear pulley fly off at a high rate of speed is terrifying. They are now driving over here to get the bike, haul it back, fix it, and bring it back tomorrow. That is a 4 hr trip one way, I doubt they will be able to make it back by tomorrow, but we will see. Seems like a whole lot of trouble (which could have been WAY worse) that could have been avoided by being half way intelligent. I no longer support high country, they are trying to take care of me, but I feel that the consequences of their latest mistake could have theoretically ended my life and that is nacceptable. Hopefully I won't ever have to deal with them again. Morgan |

tikiman, I'm in milwaukee and haven't ridden much around Madison !! But I did like the ride over from here to Prairie Du Chien as well as the ride to Waterloo, IA to pick up my bike !! Your right about the seat on the low, not as comfortable as the Blast !! CJ XB

I'm just shy of 15K on my original belt as well...you just gotta be careful changing tires, not like that Glitch fellow... "> CJ, your Blast would only do 80? Or is that just how fast you got it up to? I pegged mine (100+ indicated) and that was with the windshield on! Bryan edited by darthane on October 14, 2003 |

Darthane, that's as fast as my Blast would GO pegged out, maybe a mile or two over !! I didn't have a different muffler though, and no mods at all just stock, and it had a windshield too ! Another thing I like about my XB9 is not having a windshield, feels sportier !! CJ XB

Im a hell of a lot bigger than either of you 2 & I had the wifes Blast with no windshield up to an indicated 100mph on I-94. It got up to 90 pretty decently but from there to 100 took forever.

If it's slow to get there and your on curvy roads, either I didn't have time to get it there or I didn't know what I was doing !! I never felt the need to go over that, except for times like when I rode with the Buell guys in Prairie Du Chien, damn them boys are FAST !!! And on that curvy road I had the throttle as far as it would go and it didn't go much over 80 mph, not fast enough to suit me anyway !! So yeah maybe if I had a long straight stretch and I tried to get it there it might have after a long, long time but that's not fun anyway !! My XB9S is way funner !!!! CJ XB
