my 05 does that sometimes when it's cooler out side, on first start up of the day. not out of the ordinary. just don't blip the throttle to keep it running. if it wants to die after a few seconds, let it. then let the fuel pump cycle again, re-fire, let it warm up and ride happy. |

Mine died on me twice this morning. Just the nature of the modified buell in cooler whether I guess |

yep mine does the same when cold. it'll stall on the first try, then will run on the second try. what i really hate is that it doesn't like hot starts. always stumbling. |

I think theres a difference in your open loop idle and closed loop idle. I've noticed that while trying to dial in the idle fuel map that I can obtain a great closed loop idle, but a horrible open loop idle. Open loop idle occurs when cold. Or on a warm start until the bike gets to a certain temp. I'm not sure what that temp is. Once the bike is warm and has been driven around the block it will idle in closed loop. I'm still trying to figure out why they work differently. My understanding that while in closed loop the bike is learning and adjusting. In open loop the lesson learned is locked in until it goes back to open loop learn. I haven't owned my bike in anythign below 60 yet so I don't know the behavior there. |

Mine used to do that. It was also hard to start hot, like after fueling. Since I put a new battery in I haven't had a problem. Battery tested just fine but didn't have the cranking power it should. If your battery isn't close to 100% it messes with the Fuel Injector. Just my .02 |

How cold is cold? My 07 has done that since it was new when the temp dips below about 40 deg F. |

Mine does that when my idle speed was set too low. Check to make sure you're at specification. Over the years you can also build up a gummy residue in the throttle body along the edge of the throttle plate which disturbs air flow at idle conditions. Keeping this area clean helps prevent off idle stumbling. |
