I have been trying to purchase a Brembo adapter plate for weeks and I could not get a projected date for the arrival, so I decided to make one.

I first modeled on a Cad/Cam program, then Laser cut a model out of Acrylic for a prototype to ensure a proper fit.

Here are pics:

Tomorrow I will post to the Haas CNC Milling Machine, cut one out of billet aluminum and then install on bike.

Doc,

Al told me that you were waiting for one. We shipped several to him yesterday. They will be there before the end of this week.

Be sure to use high strength bolts to mount the caliper!

Keith,

Thanks for the info; I have a dead line I need to meet before leaving for vacation. Al could not give me any information about arrival when we spoke in the morning.

So, I sat down and put one together.

Sorry for any inconvenience, but I could not get a date for the eta of the product to help me with my schedule. If I could have had a date I most definitely would have waited and purchased!!

You and Al are a great help and I always try to support, but again I was pressed for a date.

Thanks, John

Are you using the stock brake line with the Brembo?

Maddiemsu,

I ask Al this question and I was informed that it can be done. I will find out tonight and let you know.

I wonder if it matters which Brembo caliper you have? There are primarily two locations for the line, on top and the front. The following link shows the different calipers.

Maybe someone who has done one will have more information for you. Good luck.

Damnut,

I printed out your posting that had the part# and length a few weeks ago. Please double check my info, because today I am going to purchase.

Goodridge 21" universal brake line part# 11321-E.

2 Goodridge Banjo Male straight part#592-03BK.

Is the length of 21" correct?

Thanks...

You want them both straight now?
Or is it still one straight and one with a slight angle?

Edit:
I'll just call you around noon.

Shit I just noticed that I called you Paint and not Point, sorry man.......

Yea that is what I ordered. As you can see it worked out great for me. You have to check to see if you have the same caliper as I do. I think the other style Brembo caliper has the banjo bolt on the bottom and not where mine's is. In that case you may need a longer brake line and have one of the ends with an angle to it. I believe that Goodridge sells a 30 degree angled end that would work in that case.

If you need any more info or pictures, let me know.

edit to correct my bad grammer

Would be interesting to see the stress analysis. What grade bolts did you use?

Hey Blake,

Used stainless bolts...for the analysis I could us ProE, maybe this fall. I also belief that the housing of the caliper would have to be factored in to get a complete analysis.

Stainless bolts? What grade?

Caliper need to be factored in? Not so much. One of those bolts will need to carry pretty much all the load.

What load did you use?

Blake - The bolts he used have a tensile strength of 116,000 psi. They should be
fine.

Man, not only do you have access to a CNC machine, but you also have the time, software and raw materials as well! And CNC time isn't cheap!

And I used to envy people who had access to plasma cutters and TIG.

I am trying REALLY hard not to be jealous... : )
