On the track today Paulo hit the rev limiter with the speedo at 240 kph. That was with the 41 tooth crank pulley. I've got the 42 and 43 made and ready to try. It's going to break the 250 - just know it. This is the 41 tooth compared to stock. The chain was extended but the tensioner bends the chain a bit so its noisy The 42 will work. 43 will be a bonus. Paulo says that despite the noise he would keep the 41 tooth instead of the stock 38 if the bigger cogs don't work. He says that the bike is smoother. He can extend more from the line and through corners, and he is getting the best consumption the bike has ever had (which is still pretty bad because his bike is sick tuned - it squirts a gas station when he touches the throttle).

That one exists. XB9 crank pulley is 34 teeth. Limits you to a measely 200kph |

I'm amazed Point_doc that they manage every size except 30. The links are paired, and the problem with the 41 tooth is that the adjuster is pushing up too much when the chain has two extra links. We seem to be unlucky on our first attempt in picking one that didn't work. It's not just the speed Werewulf, its comfort when touring and not having to change so soon when starting off. Track speed is important. A few friends are parting with XBs because they are "almost" winning races. I'd like to see them have an edge. |
