Hello All...! I'm looking to purchase a pair of Clip-ons that don't cost an arm and a leg...? Is there any other brand that's just as good as Crossroads 0 degree clip-ons? If so can anyone give a link or two to point me in the right direction? Would really appreciate it! Thx! Adrien |

what other mods do you need to do to run the cross roads zero degree bars? |

None! Although a few, including myself have had problems with throttle binding. A Firebolt throttle cable set cured that for $35. Also cut out a tiny notch in the headlight bracket for a straighter run of the throttle cables. Notch is not seen once installed. The added benefit of the crossroads is the the clutch cable no longer is in the way of the menu buttons on the gauges. |

I cnc'd a 0.250 spacer for under the bars. This small amount gave me a better riding position. |

Just follow the directions you'll be fine.. I had crossroads before this setup... If you have any sort of binded or kinked cable the bars will only make it worse... I recommend if you have a pre 07 you update to this part especially if your shelling out for new cables..

Teddagreek, please explain the difference between the pic and the pre '07? And do you have a part#? Thanks |

PN # Y1000.2AK, its like around 3 bucks... I ordered it Sunday along with throttle cables and the parts to update to an 08 shorter throw throttle body CAM.. Keeps the harness and cables completely out of the way when you turn all the way left... Pre 07, the tree can rub up against it and possibly cause fraying and if you dropped the bike or wrecked the tree could kink the throttle cables and again fray the wire harness.. If you do a search, you'll see tons guys who have been through hell with this issue.. |

Please explain the shorter throw throttle body cam and there must be an advantage? A number? Are the cables different or can my '04 cables work? Thanks |

* A new ECM with increased computing capacity. * DDFI 3 actively controls and monitors the TPS (throttle position sensor), IAC (idle air control), and timing. DDFI 3 automatically zeros the TPS and adjusts fuel metering for smoother idle, eliminating service intervals and reducing the cost of ownership. * A new progressive throttle cam and new throttle cables provide smoother throttle input from stops, and less rotation to full throttle. No one has done the Mod yet a few people even said it's not bolt on and can't be done... I looked at the books and it looks pretty doable . I find out soon once I get the parts, I'll do a write up either way... |

Ted, That looks really good. I'm interested in whether or not the new throttle cam will fit as well. Thanks, Keith |

I like being the Ginny Pig and doing something no one else has done, like LSL offset match clip ons on a buell.. I came across that in a SV forum and thought that could work and it did.. Got my parts today.... Got to wait to until the wife gets home from work until I can get started.. I'll be watching my Wee ones... Going to throw on the 08 cables just to see if they will work on pre 2008 bikes before I do the throttle cam.. Just looking at design they are a big improvement!!!! I can see Buell wanting to unload all their all old stock before they supersede the part..

LSL Off Set Match Clipons I did a write up of my install last month.. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/361089.html Spiegler is the US distributor... Maybe a sponsor could order them not sure Speigler will sell direct.. You can always find them else where http://www.spieglerusa.com/cfm/clipon.cfm (Message edited by teddagreek on June 06, 2008) |

Ted, Don't the forks taper just below the top tree? If yes, did that cause the clip on clamps any problems? Thanks, Keith |

Keith, I think the forks changed in 2004, definitely by 2005 because thats my year Maybe you could machine some sorta Spacer/Ring or change forks, you'd just have a little gap where the taper is...
Only Mock up at the moment, but it was pretty easy with one major tweak....
