Can anyone tell me about the XT? I’m looking for a bike that will be used mainly for commute rides and occasionally for longer rides with two up riding (200 miles round trip) with wife. Anyone here rode the XT with a passenger? |

You might want to do a search in the Big, Bad & Dirty section. |

I’m looking for a bike that will be used mainly for commute rides and occasionally for longer rides with two up riding (200 miles round trip) with wife After you ride one you will wonder about the limitations you have put on how much riding you believe you might do on one! The passenger capability of the XT is literally the same of the X. Plenty of room, plenty of power, comfy seat, if she likes you well enough to ride with you, the bike won't be a problem. The side and top cases let the passenger have a good grip handle and they kinda surround her for a more secure feeling. My wife and I are on the hefty side of normal and we're both over 50, we have found that it is easier, with the sidestand down and on level hard ground, to let her get on the front of the seat, then slide back as I get on. There are many recent write ups in the BB&D section. Many new owners of the XT's are happy to share info and ideas to help you get along. Test ride one. Be prepared for learning the meaning of permagrin! |
