Most of the manufacturers sell mounts for motorcycles or something which is easily adaptable.

PS...get one with warning lights, the alarms are almost impossible to hear.

You sure you want your head connected to your bike? (yikes!) Or are you going to rig a battery supply for it as well?

I was either gonna use a battery supply or a tesla coil. you being the wiring power man. which one do you think is better and not just cooler. :)

Personally, I'd just rig a battery for it. But, unless it was made to run off of standard batteries to begin with you'll be hard pressed to find room for 8 AAs to power it (1.5V each for 12V). You could probably rig a simple breakaway connection and wire it directly into your bike's harness...hmm...

Mookie,
There is a company that makes a rig for your helmet. It only works with the Valentine and one other (the 2 best ones). It has a little LED that mounts inside your helmet on a flexible antenna (for lack of a better word). I do not have one but I hear that they are great. I think they also make a mount for most motorcycle bars. Here is the link www.legalspeeding.com
Pretty cool stuff I think. I just need to save up for the actuall detector. Hope this helps.

Most of my friends that use detectors use either the Valentine One or the Escort Passport 8500. I really like the directional arrows of the Valentine. That feature alone has paid for my buddy's V1 many times over :0

The new Escort Solo S2 looks interesting too though.

For motorcycle use the V1 has one glaring downside: no mini jack output - and the power supply is a bit clunky as well. I think it'd be possible for someone adept with a solder iron to install a jack, and possibly also rig a better way to power it. Maybe even a pigtail - according to V1 both power and sound output runs on the central to wires in the phone plug they use for connection.

I run the Valentine One in my truck (haven't put it on the bike yet) and can't say enough about it. The directional arrows alone make the unit worth it's price. Add in the bogey count, and it becomes frustrating to use any other detector because you feel like you're missing so much of what's going on.

Uh.....excuse me there Great Dane...the Valentine One, me thinks, has a dedicated mini-lug outlet.

What the hell do you do with an old Escort? They are like slide rules left over from school.....ya can't bring yourself to throw them away, but.....

Actually, Henrik's right on this one. There is no audio out jack. Valentine makes a remote audio adapter for $50 that gives two output jacks (1 mini and 1 micro) that also moves the controls to the small box. They also make a unit that relocates the visuals but I think the HARD system is a better set up for motorcycles.

The remote is the one I was talking about. Valentine has come to be regarded as the leader. I do know, however, that Aaron uses the Escort (I think the 8500) and speaks quite highly of it.
