I'm a 5'5" shorty..trying to get off my M2 tip toes. Have taken air pressure out of rear tire, extended shock all way...cut cushioning out of stock seat..Any Ideas..how bout using a M2L shock or older model coil spring type buell shock? STUMPED.  ...GOT NO LEGS ! | ||

Have you sat on an M2L? I am not sure of how much lower it is, but maybe your dealer can give you an idea of the parts involved to convert to an L. Maybe the L seat alone would work for you, or in combination with the L's shock, etc. It may cost some money, but lowering tire pressure would not be my first choice. Hope you get it set the way you need. | ||

Without actually changing the shock for a different sized one, there is no real good way to lower the stock shock (at least not with adjustments) Doing that will just mess up the handling. Benmarc, borrow a M2L seat and try it. Shud drop you more than an inch without any shock changes. Put the damn air back in the tire. | ||

Ben Maybe a set of M2L forks along with the shock and mount. Don't know what this would cost. But I know someone who put X1 forks on an M2. He didn't think it was unreasonable. And you would not have to replace the triple clamps. Kim | ||

I'm getting confused  . Will shortening the length of the shock raise or lower the seat height. One site I've been to says it will lower seat height by turning the canister toward the front of the bike thus shortening it's length...and some tech I've talked to says the opposite..ANYBODY?  | ||

On an M2, shortening the rear shock will RAISE the seat. It's because it's extended under load rather than compressed. Shortening the shock will draw the swingarm down, increasing your seat height. Bryan | ||
