Any one know of an axle slider/stand mount thingy, in other words a device that protects the bike in case of a spill and that one can use to lift the bike off of the ground for work? Sorry for idiotic verbage, 18 hours of on my feet work and a glass of wine. Any ideas? Anyone, anyone? | ||

Thanks guys! I just bought axle and bar sliders.....$200.00 of business for Dark Horse Moto. They look like a group of good folks with a good product. And another dumb question, the rear axle slider has a channel to lift the bike onto a stand but the fronts do not. Do you not lift the front of the bike? If so how? Sorry for all the inane queries, but just learning - everyone on this board has been great and has great information! OK, now I need a stand. Any suggestions? | ||

We apologize for being a little slow to respond as we just returned from a 1200 mile weekend in NW Arkansas. Talk about fun! We do make spool sliders for the forks but do not have them on the site yet. Let us know if you are interested. You can also use a front wheel stand that lifts underneath the triple tree. We recommend the Pit Bull SS rear stand. It has both "forks" for lifting the rear wheel with spools and pads for lifting underneath the swing arm. Some of our sponsors carry these products. Pit Bull stands are really nice. Some what pricey but very well built. I have a front and rear stand myself and think they're great. I did have a fitment issue with the new pit bull front stand at first. Since I have the cg model there's very little room in between the fender and the neck of the bike where the pin goes in. Customer service was awesome! They sent me out a few pins to try at no charge. I ended up having to modify a #3 pin I believe to get it to work. I notice you have a cg as well and thought I'd mention all this. | ||

No prob Skully -- I'm very happy with the sliders, and I will probably be doing the Dark Horse Moto/Ducati rear brake mod next -- that bracket is very nice and an actual rear brake would be awesome! I don't think I could bear seeing my oil temp though -- no matter how nice that replacement cap is! Free stuff Smiley? They gave you stickers! What more do you want?  | ||

The only problem I see with trying to raise the bike from the sliders, unless applying a tire warmer is not a useful thing to do at least for me. Anytime I've had the back wheel off the ground, the back wheel was coming off for new rubber, kinda hard to do raising by the sliders. | ||

T-Rex stands are pretty good also. You can get both front and rear stands for under $150. You can go to their web page or on Ebay to get them. | ||

What are those bars? And it looks like we have the same exhaust. Skully thanks - I hope I can install the parts myself (or with the help of my husband). The only problem I see with trying to raise the bike from the sliders, ..., kinda hard to do raising by the sliders. I partially agree. Lifting the rear wheel using a stand and spool sliders is much more stable and I use this method for cleaning, polishing, and for maintenance. When it is time to pull the rear wheel (once or twice a year), I then use a swing arm stand with pads to lift underneath the swing arm. This is why we recommend the Pit Bull SS. I has both the pads and the forks built in. I hope I can install the parts myself (or with the help of my husband). Our sliders are very easy to install. You won’t have any trouble! If you develop any products that make it easier to work on my bike or my bike look better (especially after a mishap) PU-LEESE letme know! Assuming that your bike has the Buell frame pucks, the sliders and bar ends are a great addition for crash protection. I prefer Aprilia Tuono mirrors over the stock ones (available from American Sport Bike), and I also like the look of the chopped tail (also known as the cheese grater) on the S models. We sell a license plate relocation kit for those who have the means to do this. Maintenance on the XBs is almost a nonissue. No chain to adjust, no valves to shim or adjust, and oil changes are easy. Mine has required almost nothing in five years to keep it going. Keith | ||

Thanks Leashrn, I try to keep it clean. The bars are original, but I do have Oberon bar-end mirrors installed. That might be why you think they look different. If you look close I also have Dark Horse Moto axle sliders installed. Thanks Keith! And they're super easy to install. | ||

The Darkhorse rear sliders fit the 1125R as well as the XB? The fronts are specified on the site as both, but the rears spec only the XB. This thread sounds like the rears will fit either... |
