Well here is my setup. 05xb12scg. Drummer loud race ecm pluged hole on the frame K&N filter New 08 Air Box. I plugged in ECM spy today. After my ride she was sitting at 105% AFV. I know this is lean. But how lean is it??? Gonna grenade the motor lean or like runs a little hotter lean? Nevertheless I took some duct tape and covered the left side of the Air box to reduce some air flow a little. I think this might help some. Tomorrow I will run her and see. Also I looked at the fuel maps from before The 08 Air box and now...The colors are exactly the same across all fields. From then and now..???..BUt before she was around 98%AFV. I am kind of confused.. Ahhh! |

Take the duct tape off and stop sweating. The 105 means it added fuel so it WON'T be lean. It's "correcting" itself. And 105 AFV is perfectly normal. It's not supposed to be 100 all the time. Dead-stock bikes here in MO run 105 all the time, almost the average AFV. Go ride, and stop thinking about it so much! Yup, any time mine warms up, AFV goes to 105%, like clockwork. ~SM |

Mine is also at 105% and mine is all stock except for my own custom inner airbox mod |

ThankS! I appreciate your experience and help! The duct tape is coming off..haha! I ride the heck out of my Buell and just want to make sure I am always treating her right. When I saw 105 I know this was the place to ask. Thanks again! |

Mine was at 112% today. Changed it back down to 100% and it ran like shat until it adjusted right back to 112 in closed loop. Bone stock. It says in the how to manual that AFV is adjusted depending on where you are. Given my location and the insane humidity it could be the reason for the 112%. But I'm not 100% sure why. the afv is a self learn for the given feeback data. if you want to lower the afv. you have to add fuel to the fuel table. down at the bottom there is a box with a white square. what ever you working afv is type it thwere. example a 105 afv type 1.05 112 afv type 1.12 now highlight the whole scree blue on ecmspy fuel map. and check the % so both the front and rear do the same changes. now click the * button. and reburn this data to the ecm. it now has added t \he extra ammount of fuel needed to get on a 100 afv. in closed loop. go do a closed loop ride and check it. next do a really hard ride in high rpm above closed loop in lower gears. see what that afv is. you want to read the data asap. now goto the other maps page after you get that number if it below 100 take a percent off the open loop correction if above add a percent at a time till you get the open loop afv down to 95 to 98. once you get it down. then go to the configuration screen and now unclick the open loop learn as its set good now and if you live in very hot areas while there make the center o2 setting .51 top .60 botton .45. the afv will change again. but its ok you just moved the stioch on the scale in the o2 readings. these methoids move the whole table areas. you can also do the same thing in the wot area to get the right afv number there. thats if the fuel table is accurate then the full scale moving technique will work fine. if the tables are out of wack. and the afr is not stable it will add fuel across the board but still have a sputter or miss. but not have high afv#'s.. mike |
