For those who don't know... For you all who don't want the down time by sending in your stock core to KD. Al at has a bunch of cores at KD. All you have to do is buy the $250.00 core charge plus the Drummer. Once the Drummer arrives and you install, just simple send the stock core to KD, contact americansportbike and you get your $250.00 refunded. My Drummer only took 6 days to arrive. Here's the link http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/9086.html |

From what I hear, you shouldn't need a remap for the 08. I could have been fed some crazy info, though. Besides, Drummers are the shiznit. yeah, i said it. Rich |

did you have to remap the bike when you installed the drummer i have an 08 uly thanks for your time With the Standard Drummer there is no need to remap. Kevin designs the Drummer can in such a way that no tuning is necessary (Not sure about the SS). Simply plug and play!!! Your ECM will have to learn the new can ect...so decel popping is common. After that you're Golden. |

so decel popping is common. This is true. I have a standard Drummer on my 07' 12R and it pops. Installed last summer and is still doing it today. Haven't played with mapping yet, but am hoping to soon. Also, still running stock air filter and no extra mods on intake side. This does not change the fact that I love the sound and the extra little bit of grunt it seems to have created. Power delivery is still even and smooth throughout. Can't say that is always the case when I've done this upgrade on other bikes without doing ecm or carb work, too. Also, I bought a used muffler on eBay and had the seller send it directly to KD. Cost me around $200. Then sold my muffler localy for $200. Was easy to find one of eBay as this is such a common upgrade. (Message edited by hergy916 on May 15, 2008) |
