I know it's an overused expression but: It doesn't matter WHAT you ride, what matters is THAT you ride!!! (and a part of me is jealous, too) We will need a ride report soon as you have some impressions! |

I'm jealous. That 848 is gorgeous. I was at a local Duc dealer in February, as I was looking around, a guy came in, looked at the pearl 848 for 30 secs and said, "WRITE IT UP". That guy also has an XB12Scg. Seems like Buell guys like Ducs, and why not? They're hot. |

Semantics. Every other manufacturer calls them Sport Bikes. I forgot, Ducati calls them Superbike. OOOOOOOOOOOO Big F-ing Dealio I have not ridden an 848 specifically. I have ridden numerous other Ducati S U P E R B I K E S So blow me. and I mean that in an endearing way. |

You my friend have a weak mind. Your mad because your input is no good here? Once again: Have you owned one? Riding your buddies doesn't make you any kind of expert on anything except borrowing your buddies bikes. I'm done being cordial with you, . If you can't accept that your opinion on a public BBS will be picked apart, then you my friend need to step back from the computer and find a new hobby, like riding YOUR bike. HTFU! Smokescreen |

Im so confused, you say he doesnt have enough data to provide an opinion, yet he says he has ridden some Ducati's. To me, that sounds like enough data to easily pass judgement on the comfort of the bikes, vs other bikes he has ridden. |

Smoke, your the one trying to say how I feel is INCORRECT or as you stated "NON FACT FILLED" When in fact, I do have fact's backing what is MY OPINION. You can disagree, that ok. But your disagreement doesn't make my opinion WRONG It's my opinion, and I stated as much. Your the one with the issue and your the one who couldnt handle the situation all you have to do is look at the order of the posts to show that Soooooooooo RIGHT BACK AT YA Polish, Sorry to have your thread fawked up. Congrats on the new bike, it is sweet and I never said I don't like Ducatis, in fact, I said the exact opposite. I also stated "Its all about what you want " and the 848 is what you want, then by all means, ROCK ON!!!! Lots of people will be staring at you in jealousy as that is one sexy bike Enjoy it!! |

What a Douche Canoe you have proven to be. Soooooooooo RIGHT BACK AT YA Yep right on thread topic. Obviously You haven't kept up on this thread either. Guess you missed the other posts from fellow badwebbers in there too. You must have a pretty high opinion of yourself too. Assassin, you'll love the Duc. You'll also see first hand maintence isn't bad either. Hook up with Ducxl. He's disassembled his 996 4-5 times now. Valves are a breeze once you do it a few times. Just like changing your oil. Have fun with the Ducati. A track day is a MUST! You'll absolutely have a ball! Smokescreen |

Of course "Y'all" know i have both Buells' and a Ducati superbike.Ducati called them "Hyperbike" up until 2000.Superbike now covers all 1k race replicas. That 848 is super beautiful Which one of (both?) you guys Mutation and Assassin raced the XBRR? I met that guy Smokescreen briefly when i sat at his table saturday night with my nephew at MB4.I think Smokescreen works at StoneMountain HD/Buell? Does your family own it? |

Does your family own it? No, unfortunately not. Then I'd have all kinds of Buells!!! Wow, MB4, that was a good time! Who is your nephew? (Sorry, I met so many people that year for the first time.) You got any new glossy photos of that SuperDuc? Have some questions on suspension and wheels if you got time. I'll pm you if you would rather. Smokescreen |

Thanks Ducx, That would be the mutant that "thinks" he can race the RR, He made the mistake of getting me hooked on track days. Why is the mono better?, with the 848 you don't have a choice. I already downloaded a copy of the parts manual. Where is the best place to find OE parts and go fast goodies in regards to price and selection...sorry for rambling.. It's just that i have been waiting so long for a duc that i'm giddy. MARK |

Wishin' it was a Mono.Had i known when i bought it i'd have commanded one.I was in awe of it,with a wad of cash itchin for a Duc.Lesson to anyone buying one: Get the mono! I'll have to second that!! The wife made a deal with me, I could get the Duc as long as it was a mono! Just to prevent any joyrides.
Here's mine. (Sorry, resized it too small) I need to take some better pics. Hopefully you get the idea. And thanks Greg for your info! Smokescreen |

Here's mine: Red would have been nice, but the yellow is starting to grow on me. Will be picking up a set of 5 spoke wheels for some "fun" tires. Polish_assassin, congrats on the purchase. |

The June Issue of Cycle World totally caught my eye today. It has one of the coolest custom motorcycles I have ever seen. A Roland Sands Ducati. Just WOW!!!!! Cover Pic Inside is a great article comparing the 848 to the 1125R. Hightlights are Buell more comfortable Buell more power {Due to significantly larger engine} Ducati More refined and they could not stop talking about how smooth it rides. They seemed to love it. Lastly the author made a very big statement stating the 848 is the best bang for the buck Ducati ever made. You bought yourself a great bike. I am thinking I am going to have to travel down to my local Duc shop and see if they will let me take one out for a spin. I can't afford it right now, but that's never stopped me before. Thanks for all the positive feedback Guys, I pick her up soon and I'll be sure to post pics asap. I personally don't give a hoot what cycle world wrote. I'll make up my mind for myself and my own seat of the pants opinion. Ducati and Buell, both great bikes and both are sure to be around for a long time to come. MARK |

I've got $12K set aside "burnin' a hole in my pocket" for a 1125 "S" version. I must admit, I'm sorely tempted to pick up an 848. If I don't hear some "S" rumors fairly soon I may loose control and do it. On the other hand, my buddy got a MV Augusta Brutale over the winter. I love that thing but $17k is a bit much. I'm secretly hoping he gets tired of it.... |

Smoke - I get a woodie just looking at it. He's let me ride it a few times. It is one fine handling motorcycle. It's very light & nimble feeling. It's an IL4 so the powerband is very different from my Buells and it feels really busy down there between your legs. I banged 3rd one time and it did an endless 18" wheelie - like for a football field. It takes alot of power and rpm range to hold a low wheelie like that. |
