I tried searching the knowledge vault but found no information on brake pad recommendations for racing or track day use. Does anyone have any first hand recommendations? Thanks! Dave |

I have the Lyndal Gold + pads on my track bike. They seem to be great. I had stock pads when I bought the bike and I had pulsing. Put the LRB's on and all is good now. I just replaced after 6-7 tack days and 3,000+/- street miles. I think they held up well IMO. |

Many like the EBC HH pads. I think they make a better track pad vs. street since they tend to need to get hot before they reach maximum stopping capability. |

Dave, I'm an amateur racer in the CMRA. I really like the Nissin 804 pads. Lots of initial grip and no fade. Keith |

Thanks for all of the feedback folks. Skully: Are the Nissin 804 pads the same as the stock pads I can buy from my dealer or something made specifically for racing? FB: This one seems to come up in most conversations. Have you tried them? Slitherin: Al Lighton didn't seem to think the Lyndalls were good for track use. I have a set on order for my street bike since it just started the "pulsing" experienced by many on this board. Mr. GTO: I have heard of CL pads for cars too. That price sounds great. Dave |

EBCHH pads are the only pads I will run. I had Lyndall golds, they fade Stock pads, Fade EBC's Rock steady!! I have not tried the Nissin's and they make great pads for cars. The EBC's are tried and true and are ran on many race bikes. |

I think the Lyndall Golds are better for street use where you are not going to be generating the temperatures in the brakes that you do on the track. I could see how the Lyndalls might fade on the track. The EBC HH pads seem to be much less likely to fade on the track. The only problem I have heard with them is that they take a little bit of heat to reach maximum bite and that many times it's difficult to hit that level of heat on the street. I haven't used them. The Lyndalls work for where and how I ride. |

I ran the older LRB Gold pads (new ones are Gold+, not sure what the difference is) on the street and loved them, but at the track I ran into some fade with them even when using fresh brake fluid. I switched to the EBC HH+ (GFA345HH) pads and they were much better for track use. The only downside is that I went through the EBCs fairly quickly, they were shot after two track days and ~3k street miles. I tend to go through front brake pads pretty quickly normally, but the EBCs still went away quicker than I expected. Then again, they probably would have lasted much longer if I only used them on the street. |

For the track, there is no other choice but the Nissin 804's!! Huge bite and ZERO fade. They are expensive though. $85 a pair!!! You have to get them from your dealer through Buell Racing. Tried the Lyndalls and they faded during longer sessions. For serious track use, there is no comparison! Schmitty |

I used the Carbone Lorraine's at Nashville super speed way. If you have been there you know brakes are crucial. You get to run the whole front stretch WOT. I was coming close to hitting the rev limiter in 5th. You come into the first corner and dont really have to slow down, its a sweeper. You then come to a hair pin that i was basically picking my back tire up off the ground to get slowed down for because i was still in the triple digits. I am about 245lbs with gear and i am ham fisted with the front brakes. They never once faded! For the price you cant beat them. |
