I now have a spare housing i'd contribute to this endeavor. Blake, outstanding suggestion! But now,one of US needs to coordinate. And not one of us wishes to be stuck with unwanted expenses. |

Excellent idea, Blake. I have talked to my little brother that now owns my old 'Bolt. He knows about it, says he doesn't ride at night. The last night I was in Texas, he rode off in the dark... Low beam was slightly brighter than a candle. High beam is still fine tho. If I still had it, I'd opt for the HID lo-beam only fix. Zack |

I'll go for that Blake. Earlier in this thread it was stated that Jon Flickenger said a fix is in the works. I'd like to have confirmation about that first before shelling out any cash. Anyone who was at MBV and was listening to John talk would have heard me ask the question about the Firebolt headlights. The cabin at TWO was pretty full so there had to be others that heard exactly what he said. I will repeat this to those who haven't heard: I sent 2 sets of headlights away, 1 set went to Buell and the other went to the DOT in Washington, DC. I had a guy from the DOT in DC come to my house to discuss this problem. He took a set that I had back with him. He returned them this past January and called me to say that, more than likely, there would be a recall. I sent Buell a set of headlights in March of 2007. I have been dealing with this issue for about 2 years now. I got tired of not being able to see at night and decided the best thing FOR ME would be to upgrade to HID lights. TO ME it seems that my thoughts and comments on this matter and how Buell has handled it to date has made a high profile member of this board give me the cold shoulder. |

"But now,one of US needs to coordinate. And not one of us wishes to be stuck with unwanted expenses." Way to get in the spirit and help achieve a solution! How tough can it be to find out how much something will cost and have the folks pay for it up front? Is this really an issue? |

Dnut, Good on you for doing your best to get the issue resolved. You've gone way above and beyond what a customer should need to do and I'm sure that Buell is appreciative of your proactive and understanding assistance. As to the cold shoulder, you are now among an elite group of folks. Welcome to the club! |

I hope there will be a recall, but I am in for a fix if someone can find one. I will start working on finding a solution in just a few weeks, after I graduate college and have that thing people call time. Damnut, thanks for putting in the legwork -- I appreciate it. |
