OK so I put 1125 mirrors on my 1125 and instead of blocking the actual lower blinkers I tapped the wires and installed flush mount blinkers where they where.I just wanted to post the pics and see what everybody thinks of it.Also if you plan on doing this make shure you get extenders you will need them mine should be here this week.I kept the original flasher because with the blinkers blinking faster it actually is much safer draws more attention and the blinkers are bright as hell.

Somebody slipped in an HID while you were adding 1125 mirrors to your 1125 (12r) ;+} |

nice -- working on that one myself. what flush mount blinkers did you use? I haven't figured found something that nice looking so if you don't mind, I think I will use those, though I am thinking I might hook up the lower flush-mounts as always on running lights. Have you thought about rear blinkers yet? those flush mounts look like they might look good in back too. Nice stuff -- I knew there was a reason they made the 1125 -- to give our XBs nice blinkers!

Thank you first I dont have a light out god I hear that alot.I have dual hid and only need to run one light unless I want to blind someone then I use my high beam also. The reason I put the flush mounts on is so its easier to see the blinker from the side as the mirror lights are mostley only pointing forward.I plan on modding the rear lights but next I need to make a swing arm license plate mount. As for where to get the flush mounts I bought them from cyclegear.com but we have a store in town so no wait just went there. The brand is motrax the part number is lfy1 their actually for a yamaha but they fit perfect.Oh I almost forgot the mirrors where $86.00 for the pair and the blinkers where $26.00 a pair. |

nice -- think I will pick up two pair. hey, I relocated my plate to my undertail, 5 min with a Dremmel and then a $8 LED lighted bolt and whalla... http://retrittion.googlepages.com/12RSpring08Tail. JPG/12RSpring08Tail-full;init:.JPG Works like a charm! On the other hand, the plate mounted on the swingarm looks nice too. Either way, I'm interest to see how it looks when your finished. |

I used the same flush mounts as well. I did mine like 8 months ago, and if I can remember correctly, you have to drill out the hole for the bolt just a little bit, then splice the connections to get them to fit the each other, because yamaha's are way to small compared to the buells, and there you go. Another word on the flush mounts; if you do the front and the rear as I have done (and it looks sweet, no shrek ears, just clean lines)and you do not add the LED flasher kit to it they will NOT flash until the bike is running. They will illuminate but very dimly and not flash. Once the bike is running, you will have to keep on the throttle just the slightest bit to keep them flashing. They dont provide enough resistance for the flasher to work properly. |

Yep, that resistance issue is why you get the LED blinker thingy from American Sport Bike so your blinkers blink like normal, no throttling necessary. I think its like a $15 part too, so a cheap fix. Ahhh, here it is: http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/16086.html |

I didnt need to drill anything out other then for the wire for the mirrors the lights I recommended fit no fab needed.once again the part number is LFY1 motrax.I have no problems with the leds and dont plan on changing the flasher I like my blinkers flashing quick they get attention.I dont need to give gas for them to work and other then flashing fast no adverse affects so far. |

You haven't converted the rears have you? If the rears are still bulbs, they provide enough resistance that will not notice the problems that I have talked about.(except the rate at which they blink will change) Also you might (not likely though) with the sets of LED's have enough resistance to make them work properly with out a resistance pack. I will agree with you on the point that I like them blinking fast. |

no havent converted the rears so your probably right. But if/when I do cant I just solder in some resisters to keep it from becoming a problem? |

I tried that as well and I couldn't find the proper resistance. I even figured out what resistance the bulbs were producing and matched that with a resistor from radio shack; and for some reason that didnt work for me. I tried every possible combination of resistor, in series and in parallel, nothing seemed to work. I saw the other day a LED resistor pack at Auto zone, dont know anything about it, but if that is the road that you want to take... I would install the rears and see where you are at. For me, I decided to live with the "problem" of quick blinkers, and every so often making my voltage regulator catch up for the flasher. If you do not like the "problems" that you are having I would suggest the LED flasher like Retrittion said. |

OK so I didnt like the way the mirror extenders looked so I returned them. But instead I modded my new modded mirrors to work.STEP 1:at the base of the mirrors where they bolt to the fairing pull back the rubber arm cover and drill out the weak rivet that holds the pieces together there is 1 per a mirror.STEP 2:Buy 2 stainless nuts and bolts and 4 washers and make shure they are the right length and size bolt it all together and your mirrors are now in the proper position without ugly extenders. You will have enough movement to get a good view weather sitting up or laying down.I will post pics tomorrow as I am very busy today. |
