So I chopped off my cheese grater on my XB12s and I want to keep my stock turn signals. I prefer mounting them to the side of the tail piece and not under it. My question is for all you guys and gals who have done this. On the right side, inside the tail piece, when mounted to the bike, is a bracket holding a box with wires feeding into it. This bracket is in the way of mounting the turn signal on the right side of the tail piece, if I mount behind it the lights are going to be slanted, I rather mount them on the flat which means running through the bracket. How did you guys and gals get around this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. And if you could post some of the right inside, and how the bracket interacts with the post for the turn signal, that would be awesome. I've searched through the archives and can't find anything on that bracket. Thanks! |

i went on the angled part. and just made shims out of rubber to level them out. i got the rubber from an old pair of blinkers i had laying around my garage. brian |

Lonexb - are they plug and play or do you have to cut the wires? |

Brian, are the mounting studs on the Shock turn signals the same size as stock, or is there some drilling involved? I'd like to not have to drill anything incase I want to go back to stock in the future. (Message edited by ferocity02 on May 04, 2008) |

mike you do have to drill the hole out a little bigger. but not that much that you could not put the stock blinkers back on. you maybe have to open the hole 1/16 of an inch.(not that big a deal). jason yes they are plug and play. brian |

You talking about the bank angle sensor? I just bent the bracket up and out of the way to accommodate my signals. |

I mounted my stockers in pretty much the same place as Lonexb with no problems at all. |
