.....no big deal. I was in my driveway making adjustments to the bars and suspension. I sat on the bike for a feel and when I jumped off it was THEN that I realized the kick stand was up as the bike kept falling and falling. Man what a bummer! I've always been paranoid of doing that and I just did! I can't believe it! The footpeg is broken and the shift lever is bent. The handguard took some scratches as well as the mirror and my rear axle slider........ thank goodness I had those installed! Oh and the airbox got scratched on the opposite side of the fall, I'm guessing my shoe or something did that. Maybe some polish will hide that one. Dang! I've only had the bike just over a month and put 2k miles on it with no problems until now. I can't believe I did that! My local dealer has the shift lever and footpeg (surprisingly). My question is do I need anything else for the shift lever? It just looks bent, thats all, but I don't want to miss anything. Now the clutch inspection cover is leaking..... why? I hope it isn't broken. I'll pick up a gasket for that when I get my parts today. I bet they'll be out of that one..... How do I change the footpeg? What are your folks using to control the spring? Thanks |

I just replaced my peg yesterday. I unscrewed the feeler - (maybe the peg won't break next time) I inserted a long screwdriver from underneath to hold the spring in place while inserting the pin from the top. (easy job) |

I actually dropped my bike BEFORE I ever got to ride on it. It was idling in the driveway ready for my first ride and the driveway was slightly sloped so the rumbling of the motor moved it fan enough down the driveway to put the kickstand up. Broke the peg and clutch lever, luckily I had the frame pucks installed. Also scratched up my bar sliders and mirror. Luckily Buell parts are cheap. |

Replacing the pegs is pretty easy. Swapped out the stock pegs for race pegs on mine and it was an easy job. Once you get your bike straight we have to get out. Other than you I haven't met a Bueller in Rock Hill. |

I've done something similar. I went to kick the sidestand out and it didn't go out all the way. I didn't notice until the bike leaned more than what it should have. Man, that thing is heavy! Didn't drop it though. Spooky & space. You guys are in rock hill! Holy hell! I'm like 10 minutes south in Richburg. I ride up to rock hill everyday! I ride all over upper sc. Can't believe I've never seen another XB (Message edited by mr2shim on April 26, 2008) |

Nice to hear there's another Bueller in the area. Hopefully mine will be out of the shop by Tuesday. Space, when will you be read to ride? I ride with a whole lot of folks out of Rock Hill and we go every day. Xbslim, let me know when you want to go. I'm backpacking now since mine is in the shop but every day we ride. |

I ride everyday except on the weekends. Go figure. I commute back and forth to work in Charlotte with my bike, so I really put the miles on it. Free parking, gas savings and a much more fun commute! I should have the ol' tt ready sometime today. I'm changing all the fluids, replacing the broken bits and pieces, adding traction grips, removing the number plates.... might put them back on, not sure if i like them off. |

Definitely. I'm actually headed there now. Since I can't go riding I might as well have an adult beverage. |

Just talked to the dealership. Waiting on clutch cable and bracket. They are also waiting to hear back from Buell with regards the oil consumption issue. No ETA on bike as of yet. |

Space, Slim and Shim, any chance of getting out this week for an evening ride or drink? I'll probably head to McHale's around 5ish. |

Make sure you keep on them! I had my Blast at Tilley's for some work and they kept it for 2 weeks and only did 2.6 hours of works on it......Call them all the time, otherwise they'll blow you off.... |

I'm off on Thursdays & Fridays. Work 2nd shift the rest of the week. I ride just about everyday. Except for today. With those tornado warnings and insano rain downpours. I don't drink though. So I'd be drinking soda. You guys are brave for dropping your bikes off at a HD/Buell dealer. (Message edited by mr2shim on April 28, 2008) |

HA! I rode today! Not a drop of rain on me. I ride everyday too. I calculated that I save 1300 a year over the car in gas.....plus I get a much more enjoyable commute. I can't stand taking my bike to a dealer, but sometimes its unavoidable... I work 9-5 monday-friday..... but dont get home until 6 then have to take care of the kids..... so 8-9 is when I'm free on the weeknights, if at all. You get one hour? I'm sorry. I don't ride to work sadly. 3p-12a kinda blows. 12a it's kinda cold now so it's a no go. Maybe in July when the night low is in the 80's. With the way this spring is looking I wouldn't doubt it. |
