Hey, Do any of you have the passenger kit installed? If so, do the number plates have to come off? Also, if you take off the number plates, what about the brackets for the rear reflectors/number plates? If they(reflector/number plate brackets) come off, then the turn signals won't fit right because of the tab that sticks out on the signal "stalk"...... is there a solution for that with the kit? |

I don't have the kit but the Buell site says that the number plate gotta go. I would think that the kit has the same reflector brackets as the XB12Ss. http://www.buell.com/en_us/gear/accessories/Produc t.asp?Menu_ID=2&ProductLineID=3&CategoryID=3&Produ ctID=4131 (Message edited by birdy on April 19, 2008) |

Don't have the 2-up kit installed on mine, but yeah, the number plates have to come off. The bolts that hold the front of the number plates on are the ones that hold the foot peg brackets. Could leave the old reflectors on, but they would look a bit goofy (IMO). You could trim them w/a hacksaw,LOL. The reflectors in the link may be/probably are a part of the kit, and look to be 12Ss ones. |

Haven't done it yet, but consider just buying the pegs and one of the other seats (51915-06Y or the touring seat 51916-06Y). Might be a few extra $ but the seat is probably a lot nicer. The seat in the two up kit just doesn't look different enough to be worth the money...it's a $200 strap...IMHO. |

The seat in the 2 up kit is the stock seat off the SS. As said before, the plates use the same bolts as the passenger pegs, so its one or the other, or 1 of each! |

I have the kit installed on mine, it's a 10 min job with 2 allen keys & a 13mm open end spanner. Kit comes with footpeg brackets, completely assembled, & reflector brackets, & bolts, & full instructions for morons. (Failure to do this properly may cause you to get a Darwin award or die or both etc....) The seat is softer, & a little bit lower than the single too. I find it a little more comfy on my arse but have to bend the knees slightly more. |

I have a corbin seat on order. I just wanted to take the number plates off in the meantime to see how it looked. I just ordered the reflector brackets.......... are they the same on all the lightning models (besides the TT)? |
