Will drilling the whole for the controls weaken the clip on part? |

I think about the most you could do is an inch.. Have you had them long... You kind of get used to it.. I was going to cut mine down, but I'm going to be selling the bars once I get all the parts for clip on project..

I was thinking of doing this too. Glitch, how much on each end did you cut off? |

...i've heard that the throttle/clutch cables, which are already super tight to begin with, might not work with shortening the bars. When i installed my crossroads, those cables were a bear to deal with and i would imagine even tighter tolerances might wreak havoc on both. then again, if people here have actually shortened the bars, i suppose it's doable. just a heads up. |

Like I said before, I never cut them down... Actually going to be selling them soon.. Mine have 2 holes on each side.. If you go with the inner hole from what remember you could lop off 1/2 inch any more your going to have to drill more holes. I like the bars I just want the more aggressive ergos of a Bolt, As far as bars.. I have parts on order for a under the triple clip ons and I'm going to space out the housing.. Kinda like the free spirits kit but mine won't cost a grand.. The price wouldn't be bad if the dollar wasn't so weak..
A little sneak of what it will sorta look like. FYI this isn't a buell in the pic.

Glitch, how much on each end did you cut off? About an inch off each end. ...i've heard that the throttle/clutch cables, which are already super tight to begin with, might not work with shortening the bars. I used an R's clutch cable, and have it routed behind the fly screen, with a hole drilled in the side of the module. I'll post a pic tomorrow, my batteries are dead. |
