I posted this in the vault, but got no bites after a few days: "Anyone know a paint code that matches the Hero Blue plastics and rims? I am looking to get a few pieces of my bike done in that color." Anyone? Thanks in advance |

don't think there is one. the guy that did the paint on my bike called the dealer for a paint code and they said there wasn't one. best thing to do is find a paint guy like mine that has a good eye for matching. |

Unfortunately since there is no paint, there is no paint code... But like Lions said, if you can find a good painter he can eyeball it pretty good! |

It won't be possible to match the translucent color. However you could use a silver base and a candy blue with clear to get fairly close. Looks like $$$$$$+. |

Actually Etennuly is part correct. You can use a Silver base and House make a translucent paint line. You'd be surprised how that can look. But again....pricey. |

Any HD Buell dealership should be able to give you the paint code since that's what color the '08 xb9sx & xb12r rims are. Right? |

Does anyone have an example of the silver base with translucent blue top coat? I did the S to R tail swap & I'm looking to paint to match my Hero Blue plastics. I'd love to have an idea of what to expect before I fork out the cash. |

Just a thought, try your local hobby shop. Should be able to get some small spray cans of silver, and candy blue, and do some testing. A piece of white cardboard would probably do for a test piece. Could point you in one direction or another. Dave |

I run a bodyshop. PPG was able to take a "PHROPHET" reading on the racing red on my bike. We sprayed some parts & the color match is very good, even to my eye. I know this is not the trans. hero blue but there may be a large enough area on the wheels to get a reading. Stop by your friendly auto paint supply house and ask for help. They can prob. mix a pint or less of base, you will have to clear over. Jon |

Silverado, I think I would try a multicolor silver ghost/blend to trick the eye, under a candy blue then clear. Even in small quantities it would be an expensive time consuming experiment. |

go to a paint store and get them to use there puter paint matcher it takes a reading and comes close. I have a 67 fire bird and was told it was candy apple red By old owner toke to a paint dealer and they checked it. honda molana red with blue added very good match. |

the blue paint on my bike is a BASF off the shelf paint, with very fine metallic to give that blue on silver look. |
