HI all just recently purchased a used 03 xb9s as my first bike, what can i say! it is a sweet bike and i feel very comfortable on it. I'm very happy with not getting a 250. i think i would have been very disappointed. I cant wait to dig into it and check out it's guts and do some maintenance. great bike to go and check out the sites. got about 600 miles on it in 2 weeks I cant get off of it, its like crack! -Travis |

Oh it already has the buell race kit on it (all of it) it is plenty enjoyable for me, i was thinking about doing the American sportbike upgrade for the drive belt and a tail chop w/ some new blinkers all around |

Didn't the '03 have some issues? Maybe someone could post a list of things for him to keep an eye on...? ~SM |

I thought the 03's had some belt issues. Personally I never had a problem with my 03, but I know some guys did. |

That's an old picture, it's black now. My obsession is so bad I even replaced my brake lines with black ones. IT NEVER ENDS!!!!!!! Don't tell her but the frame & swingarm are next |

The first thing I would do is check the tires. - If it still is equipped with the original Dunlops - replace them. Buell now equips with Pirelli's for a good reason, the originals really sucked bad. It was the best mod I made to my 03 XB9S. If they have been replaced with a different tire you should be fine. |

Ditto to what everybody else has said. Its fun to tinker. This spring I'm adding the race kit, ceramic pipe and the trunk bag. I still plan on getting black wheels or having mine powder coated.
