I am wandering how much HP the race kit delivers. I see the 9's are a claimed 92 HP, so how much with the new stuff? Thanks.

I have a 9r with a stage 1 race kit (Race ECM, K&N Intake, D&D exhaust). The guy i bought it from had it tested on the dyno. He told me 98 HP. I havent had a chance to dyno it myself but after i do a TPS reset i'm going to be getting it tested.

When we tested the race kit on an XB9R a few years back the actual increase was just 3bhp. We tested the bike in stock and race kitted form on the same dyno so have no reason to believe the figures are wrong.
Most of that increase was due to the air filter change, as we achieved a 2bhp gain on the stock bike by just fitting a K&N filter and with no other modifications.

On our race bike we ended up junking the 'race kit' exhaust and ECU in favour of a Hot Performance muffler and the stock ECU with a 'piggyback' Rapidbike ECU to adjust fuelling.

A very nice combination is the K+N, and the Drummer muffler.

It really smoothes out the torque curve, and makes the bike more fun to ride.

Even though Drummer says the unit runs fine with the stock ECM, I use the race unit, as I believe it may fill a torque dip in the mid range.

As a side note, it sees that the numerous deer in these parts are repelled by the sound of the Drummer, and tend to go back in the woods instead of jumping in front of the bike.

No guarantee on that feature though.

92 is at the crank. my 9 got 94 at the wheel on the dyno that all the pipes were tested on in the link pwnzor posted for you to look at.

that was with a SS drummer i talked kevin out of off of his race bike, and alot of tuning by Al. the D&D was considerably less.
