Well guys, I am psyched. I just ordered the very first pair of Crossroads bars for the XB9S ever sold. I have been bugging them for a while now about when they were going to make them available, and they finally e-mailed me and offered to sell me the first pair. I should have them tomorrow or the next day and I will post pics. I am posting one right now of the prototype pair. They sent me this pic, my bike is black. Whooooo HOooooo.

I would imagine they will sell to anyone. They aren't on the website, infact they don't even have instructions yet but they informed me that they are super easy to install. You will have to e-mail Brando at Crossroads to find out. They are $229.95. A little pricey but worth it I think. I don't know the Width, I am pretty sure they are just a little wider than stock. I am really excited. Oh yeah, the e-mail is xroads@somtel.net |

One question: You'll have to wait until you do the install to answer, more than likely. Will anything have to be done with the cables? IE:Shorter clutch cable...

Glitch, I am getting the bars today so I will know by tonight. I talked to Brando and he said that it is just a matter of re-routing the clutch cable. It comes out of the triple tree stock so you have to take it out and move it. Other than that, he said it is simple. You also have to get new grips because the Buell ones are glued on and you have to cut them. Fortunately, crossroads will sell you a pair of them too. I will post as soon as I finish the install. I don't have a digital camera (used to but it was stolen (f*&$%ing long story)) so I will borrow one for the pics. I can't wait. Morgan |

Morgan, I had also inquired with Crossroads regarding bars for the 9S & recieved the same photo that Brando sent you. I was told at the time that they were pototypes & would be generally available very soon. I didn't however recieve any specific info about how much lower or forward they are than stock. Will you let us know? Thanks. |

Waiting, Waiting, Waiting... UPS tracking has them being delivered today, just haven't seen them yet. I am dying because I already took the old bars off and now I can't ride until they show up. OH, the agony |

Yiiipppeeeee!!! Got the bars installed today and they look great. They are quite a bit lower (with out measuring, probably about 2 to 3 inches) and wider. You can't tell from the pic above, but they not only sweep back, but also down just a little bit. They definitely give a real cafe racer look with out clip ons. I haven't had a chance to ride it really. I was scheduled for a dirt bike ride right after i got done installing them and then it rained. I will get some miles in tomorrow and let you know. Morgan PS, the install was a piece of cake, you don't have to re-route anthing really. The main thing I learned is that you have to loosen the triple trees and jack the bike up so you can lower the forks to get the bars in place. All told, about 1 hr or less. I will also get some pics tomorrow. |
