I've read in more than one thread how people have not been having luck with their Micron systems, and I wanted to give a place to discuss it...because, yes, you guess it, I'm thinking of buying one. So anyway, what issues has everyone had? Please be detailed. I'd hate to spend that kind of money for something I'll end up replacing. |

I haven't had any issues on either one of my race bikes. Both full systems are fantastic. I have had them for 2 race season's and are great. Sorry don't have any issues to give you. |

No problem, thanks for posting. I'm not hoping for issues, but I'd like to know of any before I decide on a particular exhaust. Thanks. |

I've only had one problem. I have a helluva time getting the header joint at the silencer to seal properly. Other than that, I love it. |

Okay, here goes. Micron will work fine for a race bike. Always on the top end. I, on the other hand, ride my bike in the really, really real world. My 2003 XB9 will not run for sh*t with that Micron pipe on it. That header/pipe was not built for the 9. Nick, I would not suggest it. With all of my newfound knowledge and talking to friends and research and brainstorming, I am WAY MORE than likely going to ditch that Micron. I want my bike to run good all the time not just when I'm WOT. That pipe has changed my A/F mixture so bad that I can't ride it under 3K rpm's. It spits and pops and makes all kinds of intake noise. I can't lean it out enough on the bottom to get it to run right. If you are that die hard about wanting one, I might have one to sell you if I can't get this thing straightened out. Snake oil, man. Snake oil. Rich |

Rich has hit on what I've heard. Tuning is everything. If you get one, I'd strongly suggest you get to a dyno tuner that can either do Direct Link or ECMspy. |

My 9R runs just fine with it. The race ecm worked pretty good, but the custom map I got from American Sport Bike was the ticket. |

On a 12 with a Race ECM, it fueled about right. Cycle Connection has one on their 9R race bike, and it works well. I have not seen, but would like to see, the fuel curves for one a 9 street bike. |

Al spoke very highly of it when I spoke to him several months ago. But, he did stress the importance of a proper tune. PM me if you're gonna get rid of it... |

Not a 9 but I have the ceramic coated micron system on my Uly. No problems at all. A little loud but I wear plugs anyway. A custom EEPROM was installed and there is no popping or pinging and power delivery is awesome from just off idle to 7K. |

I have the Micron on my 12r. I also got the map from Al that he created. No problems to report as far as performance goes. Delivery is great. +1 on decel popping >3 grand. A/F checks out. My problem is with the fit. I recently wrapped my pipes, only to remove the wrap 5 days later due to my pipes separating at the joints and can. Discarded the wrap completely, reassembled pipes and they still work themselves loose. I am at a loss for an explanation. Every other time I go for a ride, I have to push the pipes back together. I think I may be all alone on this one. I need a resolution though. |

I have a 04 12s in my barn with a map from American Sport Bike, open air box and full micron. Forget riding it under 3k, She bucks and kicks like a bull with his nutz in a vise. Anything over 3k is freakin' sweet. I am putting her on the Direct link tonight if I can get the cpu out of the house and into the barn and go from there. |

I didn't want to have to get into buying a hundred different things just to get my bike to run reliably. Direct link, ECMSPY, cables, Map from Al. Just more than I'm looking to purchase. I wanted to run the Dobeck so I had control over my tune. Had I known, I wouldn't have bought it. Guess that's the price I pay for not doing all of the research. Oh well. Rich |

I have full micron system on my 06 xb 15. no problems, had to weld a bung hole onto header pipe as only one of the two had a bung hole, (for tuning it i think). other than that, no problems. very loud and a lot of power produced, Very happy. |

Not an exact fit for '08 models. Can be made to work, though. |
