sell the bike and buy a honda civic? due to where the exhaust exits, not much can be done.

I dont mind it much, the problem for me is that I wear suits and ties to work and deal with high-end customers. I just hate to smell like exhaust in a meeting but at the same time really like to ride to work. does anyone know if any of the aftermarket exhausts blow more away from you to minimize this effect? -thanks

Perhaps something in a pair of pants to fit over your work clothes? Like from a cheap rain suit? The waterproof barrier might keep the fumes from penetrating your clothes, and would be loose fitting enough not to wrinkle the pants underneath.
Might be something to try, anyway.

Depends. Does the "exhaust smell" smell like internal combustion or burrito platter? : D

Put in my battery a week ago, ran my Firebolt for a while to make sure all is well (it will get warmer here someday) and as I got back into the house I realized just how much I missed that smell.

Noisy, smelly and I can feel her underneath me. Buell ruined me for anything else.

Riding overpants may be your solution.

i really don't think those will help much. chaps are typically open in the back, and if you look at where the exhaust exits, you'll see why i have my doubts. let us know tho, i've been wrong before!

Maybe it is from other cars in traffic?

On a motorcycle you are "out in the open"

Hey, I get the same complaints about smell from my fiancee (when she isn't riding with me) when I come into the house. I solved this by standing outside for a minute or two to let my Carharts air out -- seems to do the trick. I also noticed that when I wear my rain pants over the Carharts the smell isn't really there, so that layer seems to help.

I know a guy who wears a suit and tie at work and rides a bike to work -- he keeps a couple jackets at work and carries his nice duds in a bag nicely folded, and he changes into is pants and shirt at work. He says it works just fine for him.

+1 on Retrittion's post. There are a lot of wrinkle-free and damn-near wrinkle-proof suits out there now. I've seen folks pull 'em out of a backpack, put 'em on, and go. Either that, or you could try a pair of the Buell Adventure pants to wear over your suit pants. They're a little more substantial than rain pants, and a little less Hefty-bag in hot weather.

You might go to http://www.kdfab.com (one of our Badweb sponsors) and see if Kevin has a solution for you. At one time he offered a muffler with the outlet pointing to the right side.
