Someone brought up a very good point today. I was blabbing about getting a 9R and converting it to a 1200 when the warranty expires (I'm starting to really annoy them now) when someone mentioned that the 1050cc kit with stage 2 heads would probably work well for me since I weigh just under 165 lbs. I'm kinda liking this idea simply because I could do this myself in my garage. So if there's anybody who has this kit installed on their R or S please let me know how it is. The 12R/S is outta my price range, it has to be a 9 so please no "just get the 12R" posts. I can't afford to do the "smart" thing And to save up for it would take an additional two years, much longer than I'm willing to wait. So if I get a 9 now, within two years I could afford to "upgrade" it. And yes, I am jumping the gun but my mind is excited by the possibilities and it's thirst for XB knowledge must be quenched. |

I did the 1050 kit and stage 3 head work with the pc3 and 02 sensor. I had already installed the race kit prior to the Nallinizing. It made 93 hp with a failing injector. Since then I have opened up the air box and installed a d&d. This is the way they should come from the factory. The bike is a blast to ride and very easy to ride. You won't regret spending the money for these mods. |

Thanks for the info It sounds like a total kick in the pants (oh yeah). Did you send your heads to Nallin to be ported or did you purchase new ported heads from them? I don't think I would have the patience to send my heads in and not be able to ride the bike for the amount of time it took to get them back. But patience is something I'm unfortunately being forced to learn right now. My 9R purchase just got delayed I brought my Sporty in for trade in appraisal and I was mortified. I'm going to have to sell it privately which is gonna take a while I wish I sold it last year when someone offered me 6K for it. |

I pulled the heads and sent them to Brian during the winter months.(his busy season) I could have done it this summer if I had known the weather would be this bad. But it's worth the wait!

Just an FYI ... What Sam says is absolutely correct, winter is our busy season. At one point this last winter our turnaround time on heads hit about 5 weeks. And don't even get me started on how far behind our cylinder and piston supply got. We're going to try our damndest to address the whole turnaround time and parts supply issues this winter. We'll be holding more inventory, getting our vendors to hold more inventory, and automating some of the head preparation process. But still, I don't expect service to be as fast in February as it will be for example this fall. Just keep that in mind. |

That makes perfect sense that winter would be the busy season. Winter = bad weather = no riding = take bike apart and send parts in Summer = good weather = ride every chance you get |

Aaron, but that's a good thing right? Better than the alternative I mean... Well you know what I mean... |
