Not finished of course but here's what I have so far. Let me know what you think.

Oh yeah, I will blunt the tips a little so it's not so dangerous

Thanks, now I just have to figure out how I want to finish it. Polished or painted silver to match the rails. Also does any one know how I can get a larger picture of it on here. This is how small I had to shrink before it was accepted.

Easy tip: open the file using MS Paint and use it to re-save the file.
I downloaded the above pic which was 37.9K
and then used Paint to save it and it took it down to 19.4K without changing the size.
Here's a hi res pic, I think it's one of DangerDave's but I'm not sure, that I shrank and saved in Paint. It's now 48K

play

You can also use a website like photobucket or zoomshare to host you pics and then link to them.
If you have trouble with it send it to me, cgermany81@yahoo.com
I can get down below 50K or host it for ya.
Great mod by the way.

very cool. now you just have to be careful. those bolts look like they could sever a leg upon mounting the bike.

wish i would have thought of the lightning bolt theme.

Thanks for the accolades guys. I can't take full credit though. While I came up with the idea I was unable to draw out a design that looked right ('bolts were to small). Might wife then took over and came up with final design.

Your uploaded image exceeded the maximum dimensions of 800 x 1600 pixels. Please shrink your image to be smaller than these dimensions.

Dammit. I thought I was on to something! ("Easy tip: open the file using MS Paint and use it to re-save the file.) Didn't work for me on a higher res pic. I have always wanted to be able to post pics on the Badweb but I'm not willing to jump through all the hoops of posting it first on some other site or emailing the pic. I have a dialup connection.

Panhead_dan, this program is free and works good for shrinking the images for here
http://www. (badweb is being a tard and wont let me link? Google for "ez thumbnails", its the first result)

His_and_her_buells, that looks awesome. Please if possible post bigger images, or i will have to see it in person at MBV. You are going, right?

Froggy,
I downloaded it and it looks like it will do the job but no time to work with it right now. Thanks! I can't wait to use it.

Not going to MBV, but will be at Homecoming. There is a bigger pic on buellxb dot com if it's ok to say. Still trying to get a bigger pic here. I can email a huge pic to anyone that wants one. I will post other pics when painted and complete. I shrunk the original down to 750X1000 pixels but it was rejected for being larger than 79K. I then got it down to 65K but when it posted it says it is 37.9K.

Awesome!

Now you need an ignitor box and have a big spark jump the gap!

That looks GREAT His_and_Her!! Well done!
My suggestion on color: None! Polish that baby up and let is SHINE!}

Oh hell yeah. Have it hooked up to the break switch, so every time you hit the breaks... TESLA!!
Although, you might need to tow a trailer for the batteries that you would need ot generate that much current. That is about a 4" air gap... MUCH current needed for that. Plus, you would have to split that thing down the middle and insulate each side, as well as insulate it from the rest of the bike... less the rider become the conductor! Can you say HOTSEAT!

Maybe you could paint the main part to match the rails and then fade it out at the top of the lightning bolt and polish from there? Maybe have it a little duller near the paint and gradually shinier.
Just a thought

That's my original and favorite idea so far, just not sure if I can pull it off. Plus I would have to clear everything so I would have to polish every week.

Got it painted and back on but since it doesn't match perfectly I'm going to paint the siderails and the part of the tailpiece of the connects the siderails to each other graphite or black
