Well since Blake is pushing the idea for a gang sign on us, I guess that means no patches. Might I publicly ask why? |

I'd appreciate some sort of identifier too if anyone cares what I think. |

I've never been one to willingly wear logos. In fact in the last decade or so, the only logo I've worn has been my Buell shirt and hat. With that being said, I will say on the record that I would be proud to wear a BadWeb patch. Or shirt. Or hat. But not a thong. I might scare the neighbors |

Watch out on the hand signs. You get around the inner city areas and the gang bangers have all the hand and finger signs pretty well used up. You do anything unusual with your hand and it may be viewed as a hostile gesture. I hate them b^$tards but the reality of it all is that they are dangerous people. But the BadWeb logo would make a good looking patch, I've always liked it. The fact that the Buell legal staff did not come after Blake for stealing their "look and feel" says a lot about what nice folks they are. Jack |

If you make them we will buy. I'd buy two patches, one for each jacket. I'd buy a t-shirt too I'm sure someone has pointed it out before but I know of a couple of online sites that use www.cafepress.com to produce and sell t-shirts, stickers, and such. May be something to look into. I don't think they do patches though. Just doing a quick search for patches I found a place that can do custom ones for $2-3ea for a lot of 100. I'd happily pay $5-10 for one as long as its official. |

The fact that the Buell legal staff did not come after Blake for stealing their "look and feel" says a lot about what nice folks they are. Maybe this is part of the reason for no official shirts/patches/ect. Buell/HD's legal dept. might not mind the forum logo but if you started putting it on t-shirts and such and selling them it might be a problem. I don't think it should matter but just the threat might be enough to keep Blake from using it. If so then we just need to come up with an alternate design that would not infringe in any way. We could make a contest of it like the March Badness shirt. Winner gets a free shirt/patch? (Message edited by not_purple_s2 on March 10, 2008) |

Is 3.36 to much? just getting 50 would cost that. The more we get printed the less it costs. \ http://www.prismpatches.com/Prices/prices.html |

An alternative design would be fine by me too. This forum is an important part of a daily regiment for potentially thousands of us around the world. The only other logo I have in my wardrobe besides designer labels is Buell. I consider BWB related to this passion and want to recognize it officially. I don't care what the patch looks like. I just want something... |

This kinda makes me a little upset, because freedom of speech is the first ammendment. what would the reprocussions be if someone made a patch for their jacket and didn't publicly tell anyone and just put it on and went with it? as an act of their own they cannot be held accountable for every single person. we couldn't be asked to not publicly display it, if Blake ever finds anyone in person or through posted pictures he may later expell them from the forum. I'm not wanting to pick a fight with anyone but this is kinda lame. Is it a copy right infringment? couldnt the patch just be a black recetangular shape with the word BadWeB in another font? I cant exactly find anything in the search feature about this. And yea the hand gesture thing is kinda dangerous. |

I remember some people were making the Shocker gesture the un-official gesture but I've had my ass kicked for that one speciffically. once on the bike, and once cause I wasnt paying attention and wedding pictures were being taken. |

I suspect it's not a copyright issue per se, but more of a *respect* thing. Buell doesn't seem to mind us having a version of the oval logo on the page...why push it and risk upsetting them? Personally, I'd rather have this resource at my hands 24/7 than a patch on my coat. Maybe that's just me though... |

The more pissed off you get, the less fun you will have. Not much anyone can do if you make a shirt or patch or whatever for yourself, no matter who's logo it might be. Start making them in quantity and distributing them to folks, then is where the trouble can start. |

...well Blake is a pretty smart dude (no a$$ kissing intended lol). I'm sure he has very good reasons not to get behind this. I would like to have a sticker for the back of my Suburban but if it causes strife then forget it. I think the "respect" aspect should be understood and adhered to. We definitely all have respect no doubt. But in the same breath having a patch made is out of respect. When we go to bike events find the spot who will custom make a patch and simply have a "BW" sewn onto a patch. This you its at no cost to any but yourself. |

Usually companies that are nice wont complain much about using their logos as long as that logo is not being sold. Once the logo starts being sold though, thats when it starts to get meh. They created the basic design, they are going to want their money for it. |
