I was bored one night and took a break from CoD4 and youtubed some videos and came across this video of some slick turn signals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWt4HLymo00 Took me a little research and several variations of google searches but I found out where to get them. They are solid one piece unlike most you can get with the rubber pushed onto the mounting stud which a stiff wind can blow the light off mounting stud. Here is the site which has them. http://www.maxspeed-motorsports.com/turnsignals.ht ml Another winter project item as soon as the taxes get in. Thinking about getting a pair for the front that act as running/turn signals to or maybe just turn signal's havn't decided yet whats your opinion on that? |

They look very nice, and I like the dual circuits. Another option is Shock Racing Mini 9's which are very strong, similar to ones you show but with just one circuit, and they cost about half as much. Their website is under construction, but has contact info: http://www.shockracing.com/ In any event, you will need to add new flashing relay to slow the rate of flashing down on any led installation. This is available from American Sport Bike. Alternatively, you can connect a one ten ohm, ten watt wire wound resistor across the right and left hand blinker circuits to achieve the same thing at less than half the cost. Here is the circuit diagram:

That is a great find. I have the same turn signals but, mine only have the 2 wires. In order to get the running lights/ turn signals I used a relay to flash them "off" for turning. Mine are REALLY bright so they get a lot of attention as running lights. I purchased the LED flasher from American Sport Bike to take care of the load issue. Neil S. |

Paul, I've got the dual function on the rear and love the little suckers. Well made with a sturdy feel. You have to re-drill the mounting hole slightly larger for their stalk to fit, but that's no biggie. I see from your profile you have a headlight modulator - they do an excellent job of getting you noticed! You can also add the brake light flasher for extra attention from the rear. http://www.webbikeworld.com/Reviewed-motorcycle-pr oducts/comagination/visistop/visistop.htm Pricewise, seems like they (LED signals) were about $40-50 a pair on Ebay. Jon is correct about needing a replacement mechanical turn signal relay from American Sport Bike or Napa to slow down the flash rate. They plug right into the Buell (electronic flasher relay) socket. If you don't replace the relay and add one pair of LED's, you'll get a high flash rate (which might be acceptable to you). But if you go LED for both front and rear signals, you have to get the mechanical flasher relay. I've got the matching single function amber turn signals on the front, but I'd really like them to be combo turn/running lights..... Neil, care to share your wiring prowess? Doug: You are really asking a lot from an ME ;+}. Most of my good picts are at home. Just a brief explanation: Your standard garden variety audio relay,
you need a hot wire that is controlled by the ignition switch. Use that wire on the normally closed contacts to power the LEDs. Use the turn signal hot wire to energize the coil on the relay to open up the N/C contacts when you hit the turn signal switch. When you wire the turn signals in this fashion, you need a relay for each right or left turn signal. I usually have to play with the grounds to get everything to work right. One of these days I'll document it so I won't have to guess (At last count I've done this on 8 motorcycles). So far I have not blown a fuse or destroyed an LED Time2Work Neil S. |

Skip the relay and just get some dual filament sig's. Here's another alternative. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/321363.html?1204430155 |

Bradley: You are 100% correct about using the dual filament lights and skipping the relay. But, if you can't get the turn signals in dual filament (hi/low power for LEDs), that's when the relay comes in real handy. Different ways to skin the cat. Neil S. |

I've got the LED flasher from American Sport Bike because I got American Sport Bike's Integrated LED taillight with flashers in it so when I bought the taillight I bought the flasher so np there even when I bought 4 LED turn signals. Ya I like the Headlight modulaor I actually think it's saved me a couple times I've seen cars look and start to go look again and slam on the brakes lol. my concern is hehe when I get the HID kit the lowbeam won't modulate so I'll have to have the high beam on to have a light modulating we'll see when that bridge comes how I handle it. What do you guys think about getting a pair of those light for the front in running light/turn signal? I do like the build looks like a good solid part instead of the ones you buy in a local bike shop. Far as drilling the mount hole I had to do that to put the ones I have on now so... I probably won't have to do anything but put them on and wire em up. |

Holy Moly! Strmvt, thank you for those links. That is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. I know where my tax rebate is going I want the regular ones for the front since I have Motolights that works exceptionally well as running lights. The back ones will be the intergrated brake light ones. Awesome, awesome, awesome (Message edited by metalstorm on March 05, 2008) |

Different ways to skin the cat. Yep, and that's all I suggest. I thought about reversing things with a relay for a while too. I never gave any thought to looking for dual filaments. Finding a set of dual filament signals that I liked just made everything SO EASY... and it's still hard to beat the brightness and non-directionality of a plain ol' bulb. |

The brightness is met or even surpassed by the latest LEDs. Being omni-directional can still be an issue with LEDs. This is what those lights Strmvt found look like (the obnoxious yellow ones!)

Looks Awesome Neil. tho I want to get the ones that have turn signal and brake light in one. I came across a web site while looking for these that when ya stepped on the brake the leds flashed 20x's per second for 2 seconds then went solid those would be slick to have as well I'll see if I bookmarked the sight and post it they have a video showing them in action. The site that has those leds I was taling about is down or messed up or something when it's back up I'll post the link. I found these though I'm sure they can be wired to your brake lights some how. They have a link to a video as well that shows the patterns If I were to get them they would e only in addition to my tail light to help get attn of cagers behind ya. http://www.tobefast.com/custom-led-wicked-strobes-pr-1208.html (Message edited by strmvt on March 05, 2008) |

American Sport Bike sure does. I'm not sure if they are dual circuit signals or not. I have Al's integrated led taillight which is awesome. |

www.kisantech.com sells their Tailblazar. IT SHOUTS AT DRIVERS and says: I'M STOPPING PAY ATTENTION! I have used them on my past 5 bikes and riders comment how effective it is especially with LED lights. Neil S. |

that looks like it will work better then the wicked strobes as I'm sure wiring the strobes will be tricky. I get a chance I'll look into the Tailblazar on that site Neil thanks |

I came across a site that had the web site link is http://www.e-securedsite.com/motowheels/ITALIAN/in dex.cfm Lighting, Turn Signals, & Mirrors section. I'm all about these as well hehe anything that helps cagers see me I'm all for it. But with clip ons on my 12R I'll have to figure a way to get the wiring hooked up. |

I picked up a pair of these:
I had them mounted on my Guzzi. They are BRIGHT and being double sided (you can see them from the front and back, they serve a dual function. They are pretty small but they do get your attention when they flash. But, they do not have the double brightness level. I used relays to have them as running lights and turn signals. Neil S. |

those are slick Neil I saw those as well but I want the dual circuit ones for the rear I might pop for a set for the front as well as the bar end signals I know probably ALOT of overkill but hey whats the 1st thing out of a cagers mouth? |
