Does anyone have any recommendations on a good wheel cleaner to get the brake dust residue off an amber XB12 wheel? |

I have always had great luck with S100 Wheel cleaner, darn expensive though... Although amour-all wheel cleaner works too if you use a toothbrush. |

Get your wheels powder coated satin black. It's the only way... |

After most rides, I just blow the dust off with my air compressor. Then just wipe with a rag. Works great. |

Plexus. Great for the bodywork , painted surfaces and the wheels. |

Be very careful with oven cleaner. It can be brutal on some finishes and metals. |

Harley Gloss works fine for me. At the very least I'd recommend using some form of quick detailer after a harsh cleaning. Brake cleaners and wheel cleaners typically strip any protectant off the wheels and leave the finish exposed; harley gloss, Meguiars Quik Detailer, etc. all leave a thin coat of protectant behind. Not exactly a "coat of wax", but better than nothing IMO. |

I use Plexus on my plastics, my wheels, visor and spectacles:-). The Plexus cleans off the brake dust easily, with a paper towel. Then with another, dry rag or paper towel, I give the wheels a quick "buffing" This leaves the wheels shiny and makes it very easy to clean then the next time. Putting the bike on stands makes it easier to rotate the wheels. We are talking a couple of minutes per wheel. |

This is the super great, "I'm not gonna wash my bike for 6 years, but I don't know why my wheels look crappy" kind of dust build up. With the exception of elbow grease (been there, done that, it wasn't enough), I'll try the above suggestions. Thanks! |

I have the Amber wheels too. I did the Nano polsih a couple weeks ago. I put a really good coat on them when I did a tire change. I dont know why, but it definetly did not do anything to help them stay clean. I think the Plexus might be my next experiment. |

I use Blue Corral. Spray on and rinse off. Works really well. |
