All,

I was under the impression that the stock scoop funneled air into the airbox. I took the airbox off of my 08 XB12Ss and the hole through the frame is welded shut. What gives?

I belive it was in 06 that the intake was moved to the inlet just aft of the fuel filler. When this happened the frame was closed up.

Don't go removing the scoop. It's still performing the other half of it's original job - routing air to the rear cylinder...

The 06 did away with that hole.
