So far the cost of my ownership has been the price of tires, oil and filters. I've never been very mechanically inclined but the XB is pretty easy to maintain by one's self. My bike hasn't been to a dealer since the first 1000K mile service. I started out as painfully shy around tools. Then I became mildly timid. From there I went to reluctantly able. From there I went to boldly capable and now I find myself wildly eager to service my bike. I would spend a few minutes describing the joys & sensations of actually riding one of these gems but I think a test ride will serve you far better than my words can |

With regards to performance and handling, think of the XB as being a sport bike for the "real world". Its torque and lower revving engine allow you to legally take advantage of its performance and handling on public roads. On the other hand, the CBR's forte is on the track - you won't be able to begin to touch its performance capabilities until you get in a track environment. The fact that the XB maybe one of the lowest maintenance bikes currently on the market is just icing on the cake. (I've owned an '04 and '05 600RR and as much as I like Hondas, I'll never go back to an inline 4 sportbike.) |

Got a comment from a guy in a car next to me this evening, he yelled: "Does she ride as good as she looks?" I answered like a bobble-head! Hex |

Or off road if you want to ;) Just get the bike, ride the hell out of it. It will put a smile on your face every time you fire the ignition. I know mine does. |
